Local Home Care Company raises Funds for The Alzheimer’s Society
The annual Memory Walk by the Alzheimer’s Society took place in Watford in September and Amersham based Ashridge Home Care stepped into Cassiobury Park to help raise awareness and money for this worthwhile cause. The Memory Walk is a series of sponsored walks across the UK to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society during the month of September. The walks are free and anyone can take part.
Ashridge Home Care looks after more than 100 clients across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, many of whom are living with this degenerative disease. Every year Ashridge encourages its carers and families to take part and this year was no exception. New Managing Director Mitch walked along with Founder Trudi and
Care Manager Agata. They were joined by more head office staff who walked in other locations including Care Co-ordinator Chloe and her two dogs! And together they raised nearly £200 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Supporting people living with dementia to stay in the comfort of their own home and in familiar surroundings is Trudi’s passion.
Hence, she set up Ashridge Home Care six years ago based upon the overriding principle to enable elderly people to stay at home with the right support and care to be safe and happy whatever their situation or condition. Maintaining a regular routine with people they know and love is key to those living with dementia, hence the right live-in or visiting home care is crucial to leading a good quality life.
Trudi said: “We love doing the Memory Walks and encourage others to join us. It is an easy and healthy way to support such an important initiative and raise awareness of the work the Alzheimer’s Society does in the community.”
