Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours. All nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord; they will bring glory to your name. For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God. Psalm 86:8-10

True Worship Transforms Jaya and Amoli live in the same community in India. Both women were dedicated worshipers of the many Hindu gods and goddesses, turning to them to find help and hope. Yet each woman felt unfulfilled and troubled in spirit and mind. At a Hindu festival, Jaya came under the influence of an evil spirit. It drained her strength; she could barely walk or move around. Her parents consulted priests at the temples, and doctors too, but found no help. Jaya’s condition isolated her and her family from friends and relatives. Finally, her parents gave up hope and prepared to admit Jaya to a mental hospital.
Jaya shouted at the disciple-makers as they entered her home; they answered with songs of deliverance. For half an hour, they worshipped, prayed, and sang over her. Jaya started laughing then suddenly lost consciousness. They took her to a local hospital where she woke an hour later feeling very weak, but at peace. Once home, she ate and slept for the first time in many days. Jaya was free from the evil spirit! The next day, she and her family gave their lives to Jesus.
Amoli was also drawn to the worship she heard. But when the disciple-makers offered to pray for her, she laughed. How could that help her? Yet, as they sang about a God who loved her just as she As they sang about a was, the songs and God’s God who loved her just Word touched her heart brought peace. Becoming a Global Disciple “I thought being a believer in Jesus was enough, but during the discipleship training, the Holy Spirit showed me that I have to join in God’s ministry,” Bahadur said. Bahadur is a young man in Nepal, and like many Christ-followers, he has discovered that believing in Jesus is the first step in becoming a disciple and living with a mission to fulfill. His perspective changed thanks to his local discipleship-mission training provided by Global Disciples.
“God heard my prayer,” Kul said. “Last year, one family came to faith in Jesus. Now we have a small fellowship among this tribe!” An ocean away in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bunani also participated in a local Global Disciples training. intercessory teams, we envision preparing Regional Worship Leaders to equip local worship leaders.
Meaningful worship, in its many different expressions, is important in the discipleship of new believers around the world. Appropriate expressions of genuine worship are foundational for fellowships as they grow and multiply.
With Tim’s leadership, we also anticipate an opportunity for us to share in this global worship. We invite you to join us for Nations Worship, a virtual gathering coming up in November. You’ll have the privilege of participating with worship leaders, artists, and musicians, and hear stories from around the world, as we share the Galen Burkholder, language of heaven and President/CEO focus on our ultimate goal.
