FIRST FOR WOMEN

TO DISCOVER WESLEYAN

PROUD TO BE A WOMEN’S COLLEGE Wesleyan College is committed to women’s education and helping every student find her voice and purpose. Founded in 1836 as the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women and shaped by Methodist values, Wesleyan provides students an academically challenging and relevant liberal arts education. Wesleyan draws a wonderfully eclectic mix of women – about 700 in all – from across the United States and more than twenty countries, bringing to campus a multitude of backgrounds and ethnicities. Wesleyan students choose to study here because they want to test their limits. The bar is set high because our students demand it. First for Women isn’t just a claim to fame - it’s a philosophy that explains why Wesleyan women continue to make history today.

TO FIND YOUR PLACE

PROUD TO BE A RESIDENTIAL CAMPUS

Most traditional undergraduate students live on campus, which is one of the primary benefits of the distinctive Wesleyan experience. Residence hall living provides a healthy environment for you to grow socially and intellectually.

THE WORLD IS YOUR CAMPUS In addition to living and studying with peers from all over the world, students are encouraged to participate in a study abroad experience or join the faculty on planned study-travel courses to places like China, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, the Netherlands, and South Korea.

EVERYONE BELONGS

A model of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic inclusion and success, Wesleyan students hail from across the U.S. and around the world. Approximately 40% of Wesleyan students are women of color and about 15% are international.

OF FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS HOLD WORK STUDY JOBS ON CAMPUS

Established groups focus on themes ranging from political awareness to spiritual development to music appreciation. Join any club, student organization, special interest group, leadership board, religious group, or service organization that captures your attention!

Wesleyan guarantees career preparation and professional development so students gain knowledge and skills that can transfer to the workplace. Through our From Here to Career program, we teach students to understand how to navigate their own career development journeys. These are building blocks they will continue to use the rest of their lives.

TO SEE THE BIG PICTURE IMPROVE THE WORLD

About three-quarters of Wesleyan students are servant leaders providing more than 7,000 hours of community service each year. Through volunteer work, students develop a sense of purpose as leaders who serve. Wesleyan’s Lane Center provides opportunities for students to work both on and off campus with dozens of agencies.

GET YOUR GAME ON

As members of the USA South Athletic Conference, Wesleyan is home to five NCAA Division III sports: basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, and tennis. Led by an outstanding coaching staff and athletic trainer, our Wolves regularly win All-Conference and All-Academic honors.

Award-Winning

EQUESTRIAN TEAM EXPAND YOUR FAITH JOURNEY We are deeply grateful for our long-standing relationship with the United Methodist Church and the spiritual grounding it provides. From this foundation, we embrace opportunities for interdenominational and interfaith dialogue, and celebrate the many religious traditions represented at Wesleyan.

Wesleyan is one of only ten women’s colleges in the U.S. to include an equestrian team in its athletics. Wesleyan competes in the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) in both hunt seat and western. Students may board their horses at our updated stables located right on campus just a short walk from residence halls.
