Online Decor Finds

Ready for a furniture refresh after being cooped up at home for so long? When done right, purchasing furniture and home décor accessories online provides a bounty of bonuses. First, you can read product reviews from purchasers of the items you’re considering. Next, most sites offer up comparable items to your search so you can easily look for similar goods. On top of that, you will usually be presented with images of how the product appears in a room or what it’s matched up with.

RUGGABLE.COM differentiates itself from other rug sellers by marketing “machine washable” rugs. Their rugs have a unique layer system so when washing is needed, you simply lift off the rug’s top layer for cleaning. If you’re wondering about design, know that Jonathan Adler has a line of contemporary rugs sold on the Ruggable website (see photo top right). You’ve likely already used or heard of OVERSTOCK. COM, a site offering everything from wall mirrors and bathroom vanities to bed linens, outdoor furniture and every conceivable type of lighting. The challenge is navigating so many items for sale. Some help is available with the search filters they offer. Looking for decorative pillows? You can select the price range, color, dimensions and ask to be shown only the highest rated results. Given the continued supply chain backlog, you’ll appreciate ticking off the box indicating “fast delivery.”

WAYFAIR.COM has a seemingly endless inventory of home goods: from large and small appliances, closet systems and bedding to floor tile, furniture and more for every room in your home. Be sure to read the descriptions carefully as many furniture items, even lighting, may need to be assembled. The good news: During the checkout process, you can opt for and pay an additional charge for installation and/or assembly services. Wayfair also owns Joss & Main, AllModern, Birch Lane and Perigold.

Also worth mentioning is APT2B.COM, which caters in part to those with smaller living spaces with categories like “apartment size sofas.” Fill in their search box with the word “outlet” and you’ll be taken to their sale page where you can find big savings on select items. We’re fans of their knit blankets and throws. And if you have a yen to relive the 1960s, MODHOLIC.COM has hanging bubble chairs – yes, they do! – and a knock off of the famed Eames tulip dining table, as well as a black leather faux Barcelona chair selling for thousands less than the original. Other favorite websites include HOMEGOODS.COM and CB2.COM.
