The Fall River As early as the 1830s, trappers and prospectors referred to this river as the “Falls River” because of the waterfalls along its course – Sheep Falls and Caves Falls. It was officially named the Fall River in 1997 at the request of Idaho authorities. This pristine body of water originates from the snow runoff, spring creeks, and warm springs from the Pitchstone Plateau located in the southwest corner of the Yellowstone National Park – several miles upstream from the ranch. The river flows 45.2 miles in length varying from an elevation of 6,040 to 5,046 feet to its confluence with the Henry’s Fork of the Snake near the town of Chester, ID. This confluence is approximately 25 river miles from the ranch. Idaho Fish and Game estimate an notable 2,500 fish per river mile. With cutthroat, rainbow, and cutthroat-rainbow hybrid trout (aka “cut-bows”) dwelling the river, this river is a great place for wade anglers to ply the water. The Fall River’s unique regulation not permitting commercially-guided fishing trips make smaller float boats suitable and secluded for avid anglers. The summer and fall dry fly hatch is sight to see on ranch property: bountiful with salmon flies, golden stones, baetis, PMDs, various species of Caddis, drake mayflies, and numerous hoppers, ants, and beetles! www.LiveJacksonHole.com

The entire complex is completely furnished for a move in. House cleaning and catering are both available for owner or renter.
