Flanked by rugged mountain peaks and three million acres of national forest land, and with the Salt River winding its way across the valley floor, the setting is magnificent. Developed by renowned custom builder Lance Mortensen, The Double L Ranch is in his words, “everything I have dreamed of in creating the ultimate mountain community.” Double L residents share access to world-class recreation and all of the property’s amenities, including the riverside “Buckoff Saloon,” complete with a long wooden bar and swinging doors, billiards tables, an elegant movie theater and guest accommodations. Wyoming Tax Benefits

There are numerous reasons why those who live in Wyoming have chosen to have their primary residences here. Some of those reasons are emotional, such as the sheer beauty of the natural surroundings and the overall quality of life. Other reasons are more practical in scope and include Wyoming’s overall tax-climate benefits. For years, Bloomberg has rated Wyoming as the most tax-friendly state in the U.S.

Here’s Why…  No personal or corporate state income tax.  Shield your real estate from federal estate taxes for up to 1,000 years through a dynasty trust. A key point to remember is that the trust must be administered in Wyoming.

 No inheritance tax or estate tax. Wyoming repealed its estate tax as of Jan 1, 2005.  No state gift tax. You can ‘gift’ your real estate to your heirs without paying a tax.  No tax on out-of-state retirement income.  Low property taxes compared to other states.  No excise taxes. When you fill up your car’s gas tank or buy a bag of groceries in Wyoming, you won’t pay any state tax on your gas or food.  No intangible taxes on financial assets like stocks and bonds.  No tax on the sale of real estate.  No tax on mineral ownership.

Welcome to Star Valley, Wyoming Posted on December 12, 2012 by Livestar Star Valley, Wyoming is one of the countries last areas that is considered part of the “Wild West” Star Valley is and has always been very much a destination unto itself. Hugging the border of Wyoming and Idaho, this 90 mile long valley offers tremendous recreational opportunities. On the northern end, extending into Idaho, the Palisades Reservoir provides 70 miles of shoreline and over 16,000 acres of beautiful water. This long reservoir is fed by three notable waterways: the Salt River, the Greys River, and the Snake River, each offering limitless fishing opportunities. From the town of Alpine on the northern end of the valley, Highway 89 reaches south through Etna, Star Valley Ranch, Freedom, Thayne, Bedford, Grover, Afton and Smoot. On the southern end of the valley, the town of Afton is the largest community with slightly less than 2,000 residences. It is home of the Lincoln County Fair and offers a wide array of shopping and cultural opportunities.

Star Valley is surrounded by three national forest. The Bridger-Teton, Targhee, and Caribou National Forest have countless high peaks, deep woods, clear waterways, and lush meadowlands. In the warmer months, these lands provide an endless supply of fishing, camping, hiking, boating, horseback riding, golfing, and hunting. In winter, anglers can ice fish on the Palisades Reservoir, and snowmobiling and cross–country skiing reigns supreme. Star Valley engages property owners with incredible wildlife viewing, rich western heritage, pastoral landscapes, and authentic Wyoming character, all in a quiet setting.
