We are looking forward to another great summer season with the Parks Department. With activities and schedules almost back to prepandemic, we are excited to offer increased recreational programming, including cooking camps and nature based camps. Whether you are looking forward to themed camps, getting fresh air outside, staying healthy, or learning a new skill, we have something for you this summer season. It is with such gratitude that I offer a thank you to our volunteers, part-time staff and full-time staff for their hard work, flexibility and passion. We ask you to continue supporting our community and staff by using our wonderful parks and recreation programs.

Your child will learn how to prepare and cook simple recipes they could make for your family. They will plan menus and create their own cookbook. Ages 8-11. PLEASE ADVISE US OF ANY ALLERGIES! Ready for an adventure in the woods? Put on your hiking shoes! This camp is for the nature lover that loves good old-fashioned outdoor games and crafts. Join Westfield Washington Township Parks and Rec staff for a fun-filled day of fun and games. We will kick the can, capture the flag and stomp in the creek, just to mention a few of the activities. Show us your artistic side when tie-dyeing your own shirt (shirts provided). Dress for the occasion, and be prepared to get dirty. Bring your lunch and a water bottle. Snacks will be provided. We love all of the camps through Westfield Washington Township! Our kids have been going to them for years. The staff is absolutely amazing, and the crafts, activities, and even the snacks are so fun for the kids. There is so much time and thought put into all of the themes. BOTANY

Ages 6-17. Discover the multitudes of native plants in our three different habitats at MacGregor Park. We will create a log of plants we identify and cross-reference them with potential usage by humans as well as the animals of the park. Instructor: Beth Ann Broadhurst. Min 3/Max 10 7223.413

PRESCHOOL Preschool Enrichment Class Requirements Ages 3-5. Children MUST be potty trained and be able to follow directions and participate in small group setting without a parent. Ages 12-17. Taught by a certified art teacher, this camp will incorporate drawing, painting, cut paper collage, and other mixed media. Create a composition that's matted and ready to hang in a step-by-step process. No previous skills are needed and everyone works at their own level. You'll make a multi-dimensional masterpiece. The process improves skillbuilding, problem-solving, and creativity, in a fun, engaging camp. Fee includes all materials. LEARN TO KNIT Ages 16+. Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit but weren’t sure how to get started? This beginner class will walk you through the very basics of knitting: cast on, knit stitch, and casting off. This class is perfect for people who have never picked up needles before and want to learn the very basics to knitting. We will begin working on a water bottle holder. All Ages. MacGregor Park will be home to a new StoryWalk® where visitors can enjoy reading a children's book while walking the park trails. Join us for the book reveal along with some activities and a take-home craft. This project is a partnership between Westfield Washington Township and the Westfield Washington Public Library. If you are unable to join us for the book reveal, don’t worry, the story will remain up for several months so stop by anytime the park is open from sunrise to sunset.
