A Holiday to Remember Some of my favorite memories from childhood are of the holidays. Taking in all of the sights and smells, spending time with family and friends, singing Christmas carols, baking and enjoying delicious foods and, of course, being out of school during the holiday season! In today’s high-tech world, our kids have no idea what it feels like to wait in glorious anticipation for the one time of year those Christmas specials would be on television. Do you remember? Even today, I can still feel the magic of the season while watching some of my favorites: “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer;” “A Christmas Carol;” Miracle on 34th Street;” “It’s a Wonderful Life;” “Frosty the Snowman;” and “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” In This Special Issue We are so excited to provide you with our very first West Georgia Woman magazine holiday guide! We were working harder than Santa’s elves while it was still summertime so we could finish this beautiful special edition for you, and for our valued advertising partners. I hope you enjoy this holiday guide as much as we enjoyed creating it for you. This issue is chock-full of wonderful articles from holiday entertaining and decorating to fabulous gift ideas and ways you can help others here in West Georgia. As we approach the holiday season, please remember to take care of yourself, spend some quality time with your friends and family and, most important, to remember the true meaning of Christmas. Please shop locally as much as you can. It really does make a difference in our communities. I wish for abundant blessings to you and yours during this holiday season. Peace and joy,
