

Reimbursement Questions and Answers
Q1 – How do I process a reimbursement? Visit the SGAC website and head to the SGAC Sports Academy page under the centre services tab. During the application dates for 2025 reimbursements, a link to the application form will be visible to click on and process your reimbursement claim.
Q2 – What am I able to claim? Please refer to the 2025 SGAC Sports Academy Funding Policy for all information regarding reimbursements.
Q3 – How much is my child’s scholarship amount? Please review your child’s scholarship letter to see which classification they are and their available funding amount. You can also refer to the 2025 Sports Academy policy under the classification criteria.
Q4 – Am I only able to submit during the 7-day application period? Yes, applications will open for 7 days under the outlined application periods. In the event you miss a period, you will need to wait for the next application period to open.
Q5 – When will I receive the reimbursement money? Once applications are closed, all applications will be reviewed by the Academy to ensure the claim is in line with the policy. Once approved, the reimbursement will be processed and payment made. The reimbursement process should no longer that 14 business days.
Q6 – Will SGAC notify me when applications open? SGAC will endeavor to remind all scholarship holders when applications are open, however it is the individual’s sole responsibly to manage their scholarship funding and reimbursement applications.
Q7 – Can I claim for international travel? No. Only domestic travel is included in funding.
Q8 - Will the Academy process travel receipts if the accommodation has been booked under the parent’s name? Yes, the Academy will provide travel cost reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses for the individual scholarship holder for the period of the sanctioned competition, even if the parent has booked and made payment. Receipts will need to be provided, and the reimbursement is for the scholarship holder only and does not include out-of-pocket expenses for other travelling members.
Q9 – Can I use a service provider of my choice for Athlete Support Services, or is there a list of approved providers? You can request reimbursement from your choice of provider, ensuring they align with the listed and approved services in the policy. The approved service must be stated on the tax invoice.
Q10 – Can I claim my scholarship total amount in one application? No, the funding for each scholarship holder will be allocated, 50% for the period January-June and 50% for the period July-December in each calendar year.
Q11 - How do I access a statement for program fee expenses? You can access your program fee statement for the period you require via your member portal. Simply login to the member portal, select your name, then Run Statement. From there you will be able to filter dates and print the statement.
