Bhí Grotto an Dísirt ar lasadh de i gcuimhne ar gach éinne atá imithe uainn de bhárr na pandéime agus do gach éinne a buaileadh go trom. Múchadh iad Lá le Pádraig. Laethanta breátha amuigh romhainn, le cúnamh Dé. Bhain mórán daoine taitneamh as Gáirdíní an Dísirt le linn na dianghlasála - a bhí ar oscailt ar feadh na huaire. Bíonn na héanlaithe ag cantan ann agus ní fada go mbeidh a neadacha á n-ullmhú acu. Ní fada go gcífear na gráinneoga tar éis a gcodladh geimhridh. Beidh An Díseart á oscailt nuair a cheadófar san. Bhí an Fhoireann agus An Bord gnóthach le hobair tí, réiteach agus aistriúchán an tsuímh idirlín, cúrsaí dea-rialachais, síor chothabháil & pleanáil – a deineadh le cruinnithe ar Zoom. Ní bheidh scoláirí ó SHU chughainn i mbliana ach beidh siad ag filleadh arís i 2022. Bíonn caidreamh leanúnach againn leo. Beidh Tréimhse Chónaitheach á thairiscint ag an nDíseart do Fhile Béil ó Meán Fómhair 2021 – Feabhra 2022. Táimid buíoch d'Ealaín na Gaeltacht don sparántacht seo. Beidh lóistín ar fáil don té a cheapfar chomh maith le áiseanna An Dísirt. Beidh deis anseo d'File Béil a c(h)uid ealaíne a fhorbairt agus a chur faoi bhráid an phobail. The Grotto at An Díseart was lit continually in memory of all we lost in our community because of Covid 19 and indeed for all who have been affected. The lights were turned off on St. Patrick's Day. Brighter days are ahead. Many people enjoy An Díseart Gardens during lockdown – which are open daily. Birds are singing now and will begin to prepare their nests. Work is ongoing surveying which of the wildflowers, planted last year have seeded for this year, this work will take a number of seasons to establish which of the Irish Wildflowers will reseed annually in the garden. The hedghogs have been in hibernation and will hopefully emerge soon. An Díseart will re open when allowed to do so. During the year since the first Covid lockdown, the Díseart Team and Board were busy with housekeeping matters, translating and the development of the new website, ongoing maintenance and planning, as well as matters relating to good governance – all done with regular meetings on Zoom. Students from SHU will not be in Dingle this year but their return is planned for early 2022. They have fond memories of their time here, as we are told through regular contact that we have with the SHU faculty. An Díseart are offering a Residency to a Verbal Irish Language Poet from Sept 2021-February 2022. We are extremely grateful to Ealaín na Gaeltachta for sponsoring this bursary. Accommodation is available to the person appointed along with all the facilities in An Díseart. This will be an opportunity for a Poet to develop his/her work and to present it to the public.
