WELCOME BEN ROSENBUSH, NEW WORSHIP ARTS PASTOR Ben Rosenbush has accepted an invitation to be our new Westwood’s Worship Arts Pastor. Ben has served for the past two and a half years as the primary worship leader for our Saturday and Sunday ELEMENTS services, though he has also led worship on some Sunday mornings and participated in special allchurch services such as Maundy Thursday. An accomplished songwriter, composer, arranger and cellist, Ben brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role. In addition to a song writing/performing/ recording career (including touring with artists such as Sara Groves and Jason Gray), Ben has been a worship leader for several area churches including, most recently, Awaken Church, a church that he and his wife Jacqui helped launch three years ago. He has also led bands and choirs in educational settings. Ben earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University in Nashville in 2005. Ben and Jacqui have a heart for the local church as both their fathers are pastors. Ben is looking forward to starting full time with Westwood in April. He will give strategic leadership to all of our services; both the Sunday morning and ELEMENTS experiences. A search is now underway for a Worship Arts Associate to serve as a worship leader
for some of the seven services we will have on a weekend when the Phase 2 worship room opens up; our five current services and new Phase 2 services at the 9:45 and 11:05 services. Ben appreciates the richness of what is currently offered musically at Westwood and, with the Worship Affinity Team, looks forward to developing services that take the best from both the morning and ELEMENTS experiences into the future. Ben also has a heart to expand into new musical/artistic expressions.
About Westwood Worship Services Westwood services are
Communion
dynamic and inspiring.
As we express our worship to God, the music is celebratory though the style is varied. All our services feature thought-provoking messages that present biblical truth that you can apply to your life. The message is the same at all services.
Sunday morning services (8:30, 9:45 & 11:05am) On Sunday mornings, you will experience a variety of updated traditional hymns, along with the songs of today.
We observe Communion the first Saturday and Sunday of the month at all our services. All those who believe in Jesus Christ are welcome to participate. If you would like a pastor to clarify the meaning of the Lord’s Supper, please call the Church Office (952.224.7300). Self-serve gluten-free communion is available at the usher stations on Sunday mornings. During the ELEMENTS services (Saturday and Sunday evenings), gluten-free communion is available on the far left side of the Worship Center when you are facing the front. INFO: Jessica Lebens, 952.358.1490, jessica.lebens@westwoodcc.org
Saturday & Sunday ELEMENTS services (5:00pm) The environment is relaxed and the music is a blend of soulful songs that are both relevant and reverent. Find information on Children and Student programming on pages 4–7.
We demonstrate God’s love in creative and compelling ways that lead people to:
KNOW God, WORSHIP Him authentically, GROW spiritually, SERVE joyfully and CONNECT relationally.
We are a community with open hands, receiving from God all He wants to give, believing He wants to give us a lot. And with open hands we give it away, believing we cannot out-give God.

Connect & Grow Adults: 20s and 30s (Catalyst)
Adults: 50+ (Mature Generation)
Westwood’s Catalyst Ministry is a place for adults 20s–30s in all stages of life–married, single or with kids–to develop relationships with God and one another. Our vision is to reach and assimilate the next generation into community life and leadership.
Pastor Mark Nelson is transitioning from Worship Arts to the Mature Generation Ministry. Over a year’s time, Mark is passing the baton of Worship Arts leadership, transitioning existing ministry teams, and making sure the ministry is resourced for future effectiveness. Mark’s new ministry will be all about reaching the mature generation with the love of Jesus Christ with a holistic approach that will be felt-need driven. Three distinct generations of adults are being targeted: the Boomers (50-64), the Builders (65-79) and the Elders (80+). Mark is spending his transition year building a leadership team, developing a ministry plan, and hosting forums to launch this new Mature Generation Ministry.

Life & Events Baptism
Funeral Support
At Westwood we believe that baptism is for everyone who believes in Christ and has chosen to follow Him. Baptism is a time of celebration! In baptism, people express faith in Christ and publicly acknowledge their commitment to Him. Baptism symbolizes the believer’s union with Christ, spiritual cleansing and forgiveness, and promised resurrection into eternal life. Westwood celebrates baptism together in community in June and September at area lakes as well as periodic occasions in our Worship Center. Classes are offered prior to the summer and fall baptism services.
Preparing for a funeral or memorial service? Westwood comes alongside families who are in bereavement by providing pastoral support, funeral services and hospitality.

Maundy Thursday Service In two services on April 17 at 6:00 and 7:30pm, we will remember the last supper experience by observing communion together, as well as focus on the suffering and death of Jesus, the price He paid to secure the forgiveness of our sins. The services in the Worship Center will be relayed by video to the Phase 2 worship room.
