Come discover the seven churches of Revelation “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.” Revelation 1:11 September 14 and 15 Pastor Joel Johnson will begin a nine-week message series on the seven churches of Revelation. This series will examine the words sent by God through the Apostle John in banishment on the Greek island of Patmos. He wrote letters to specific churches in Asia Minor where the Gospel first spread out of Jerusalem. God has specific words of both encouragement and warning to these young churches. These words are also intended for the church down through the centuries. The letters identify important issues of our faith as well as reveal an encouraging glimpse of the eternal rewards waiting for us. Invite a friend to experience “The Seven Churches of Revelation” with you!

The environment is relaxed and the music is a blend of soulful songs that are both relevant and reverent.
Important news: We’ve spent the summer upgrading the video technology in the Worship Center (you’ll notice the new cameras, but there is a whole production room also). On September 7 and 8, we will enhance the sermon communication as we project the speaking pastor on the large Worship Center screens. The new technology will also improve the audio and video in the Worship in the Link area (re-opening Sep 7 & 8) and prepare us to stream our services over the internet. In the future we will be able to send the message portion of the service to a future on-campus worship venue and future multi-site location(s).

Welcome to Westwood’s fall ministry season! We
have a great ministry season ahead of us and we hope that you’ll connect with others and grow in your faith. All of us have been created with a desire for meaningful friendships – add faith in Christ into that and you have a great recipe for spiritual growth. Small groups are a great environment to build friendships and to grow spiritually as a result— check out the many groups listed in Volume One. We also offer multiple classes where you can expand your knowledge of God and yourself. First, there’s Alpha – a great environment to ask those burning questions of faith that you’ve not asked before, and in the process learn basic knowledge of God. Alpha is for both people who have come to faith and for those who are in a place of asking significant questions before making a commitment to Christ. Second, there’s LifeKeys. Learn about how God has wired you and how you can put your strengths into play to experience the thrill of being used by God in your sweet spot. Third, there’s Essentials – a great next step theology course in which participants will take a deep dive into the pool of the core of Christian belief. Our goal in Essentials is to increase our confidence in faith with helpful knowledge, and also grow in the ability to interact tactfully and lovingly with those who may not believe as we do. There’s a great Fall in store for Westwood—I invite you to join us!
Adults: Singles 40s–60s (Transformations) We are a community where singles can be transformed by God’s love and amazing grace while developing friendships, growing spiritually, and serving joyfully. The new ministry will be all about reaching the mature generation with the love of Jesus Christ with a holistic approach that will be felt-need driven. Three distinct generations of adults will be targeted: the Boomers (50-64), the Builders (65-79), and the Elders (80+). Mark will spend his transition year building a leadership team, developing a ministry plan, and hosting forums to launch this new Mature Generation Ministry.
