Purpose Statement

The purpose of Westwood Community Church is to honor God by enjoying Him through reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ.

Vision Statement

We demonstrate God’s love in creative and compelling ways that lead people to know God, worship Him authentically, grow spiritually, serve joyfully and connect relationally. We are a community with open hands, receiving from God all He wants to give, believing He wants to give us a lot. And with open hands we give it away, believing we cannot out-give God.

CURRENT SERMON SERIES June: influencers Everyone is a leader. Leadership is about influence, not position. Who we influence and how we influence may be different, but everyone influences. An influencer motivates others to change. An influencer replaces bad behaviors with powerful new skills. An influencer makes things happen. You’ll see in this series how seemingly “insignificant” people of every age and stage of life are touched by God’s grace. They become high impact influencers making incredibly significant contributions in solving problems others would think impossible. Once you tap into the power of God’s influence in your life, you can reach out and help others be wiser, live better, and even be God’s change agent to save lives.

July & August: The heat is on! ...weathering everyday problems. Living the life of a Christ-follower does not guarantee us a pain-free existence. The promise we have as believers is that God will be present with us in our difficulties. He will give us the ability to cope—to face our struggles with a strength surpassing our own. As we mature in our understanding and faith, we grow in our ability to see that God uses the difficulties and problems of life to stimulate growth and maturity in us, giving meaning and purpose to them. Over time we become stronger in His strength and wiser in His wisdom. In this 8-week summer series, Westwood pastors will give us guidelines from Scripture to find hope and persevere when difficulties and struggles come, when “the heat is on.” See more online at www.westwoodcc.org/currentseries

Values

In baptism, people express faith in Christ and publicly acknowledge their commitment to Him. Baptism symbolizes the believer’s union with Christ, spiritual cleansing and forgiveness, and promised resurrection into eternal life. Westwood celebrates baptism together in community in June and September at area lakes as well as periodic occasions in our Worship Center. Classes are offered prior to the summer and fall baptism services. INFO: Sabrina Downey, 952.224.7314, baptism@westwoodcc.org
