Doc Malloy Wexford Junior Tennis Night

SUNDAY, JUNE 6 We are celebrating the life of Doc Malloy during our competitive junior tennis match night. The event will have 2 flights based on ability. The Beginner/Intermediate competition will be held from 5-6:30pm. The Advanced players will play from 6:30-8pm. The event is open to players age 10+. Registration is at the Tennis Center.

PICKLEBALL

Join us every Friday from 11am to Noon. These clinics will focus on all aspects of Pickleball, from scoring to strategy! Spots are limited, please sign up in advance.

POWER HOUR

Join us every Friday from 9-10am for a FREE ball machine, music and live ball clinic. This clinic is open to all levels of players, and is a great, relaxed way for new members to meet other players.

TENNIS TIP: Add more shots to your game

Take your game to the next level by adding slice and drop volleys to your arsenal. The most common complaint we hear from net players is the fear of being lobbed. By adding slice to your groundstrokes and drop volleys to your net game, you are sure to make your opponent run rather than you doing all the running! PICKLEBALL TIP:

Pickleball is a fast-paced sport — it can go from a slow dink rally to rapid fire volleying at any moment. That’s why it’s important to stay engaged in the point and keep your paddle up and ready, especially around the kitchen. There are several variations on the paddle ready position so you’ll have to experiment and see what works for you. However, the key points are the same: • Keep your knees bent and back straight • Hold you paddle at roughly chest height • Make sure your paddle is out in front of your body rather than tucked in
