Returning to headline in 2022 are electropop pioneers OMD, whose frontman Andy McCluskey describes Let’s Rock as “The best music party with our best music friends!”, while fellow headliner and Let’s Rock legend Billy Ocean says, “I genuinely love playing Let’s Rock, the atmosphere is always brilliant. Ten thousand crazy fans singing your songs back to you – what could be better?!”

We’ve been humbled by the loyalty and passion of the Let’s Rock family who have stuck with us through what has been an incredibly challenging couple of years. We’re so excited to be back with a full summer of shows in 2022 with what we believe is our best ever line-up. We genuinely can’t wait to see you all there.

Also returning in 2022 are new romantic icons ABC whose singer Martin Fry adds, "Really looking forward to performing at the Let’s Rock festivals. Sunshine guaranteed. Last time round was incredible from the audience through to every act involved. See you there.” Next year sees the return of a full schedule of Let’s Rock festivals, which run all over the UK & Eire from late May to early September. Despite the tremendous difficulties they faced Let’s Rock managed to successfully host eight festivals this year. Tickets for the summer 2021 events that had to be postponed - Let’s Rock The Moor, Let’s Rock Wales, Let’s Rock Essex, Let’s Rock Kent, Let’s Rock Northern Ireland and Let’s Rock Ireland – remain valid for 2022.

TICKETS ON SALE NOW! www.letsrockexeter.com

2019 was the last time Let’s Rock were able to run a full summer of festivals and they attracted a total audience of over 150,000 across twelve locations. With the addition of two more festival sites for 2022, next years’ Let’s Rock promises to be the biggest yet. Let’s Rock organisers Nick Billinghurst & Matt Smith commented, “We’ve been humbled by the loyalty and passion of the Let’s Rock family who have stuck with us through what has been an incredibly challenging couple of years. We’re so excited to be back with a full summer of shows in 2022 with what we believe is our best ever line-up. We genuinely can’t wait to see you all there.” Let’s Rock works with many amazing charities including official charity partner Child Bereavement UK, who support families and educate professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a family is facing bereavement. With their festivals unable to take place during 2020, Let’s Rock organised three online festivals which drew an estimated audience of three million and raised £200,000 for the charity.

DANCE WORLD CUP SUCCESS FOR TOTNES SCHOOL OF DANCE

“Whilst we are exceptionally proud of these successes, the school offers a friendly, nurturing environment for children to flourish and enjoy dance at all levels of commitment“

Totnes School of Dance are celebrating record success from the 2021 dance World Cup Finals bringing home 16 medals after an incredibly hard 18 months due to the Covid pandemic. Pupils have shown exceptional tenacity and commitment throughout this difficult time and have been rightly rewarded with remarkable results. The team of 28 pupils aged between 10 and 23 years won 8 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals and 2 Bronze medals at the finals in late August. Competing in individual, duet and group categories across a number of genres that include Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Musical Theatre and National. In addition to this the Schools Senior Pointework Ballet Group scored the highest marks in the entire competition and the schools Musical Theatre Group ‘Holiday Inn’ was awarded Most Outstanding Senior Group from the entire competition.

#teamtotnes “Our term starts back on September 11th and we welcome children of all ages”

Over Five thousand of dancers from 47 countries competed at this year’s finals – with some overseas entrants live streaming into the event due to Covid travel restrictions. Medals were awarded for individual categories with an overall team point accumulation deciding the winning country - England! This year proved to be even harder than previous years as classes were forced to take place over zoom for much of the pandemic and in addition to this once we could return to the studio strict social distancing rules were adhered to also. The dedication and focus the pupils have shown has been nothing less than exceptional. As a school we pride ourselves on team spirit and have proved that working together as a team really does pay off. Every member of this squad has shown so much dedication with rehearsals and training in addition to maintaining their academic studies. Watching their growth day as a team and individually has been incredible. We are very proud of each one of them” The team are incredibly grateful to Exeter based business Fresh Escapes Luxury Homestays who generously sponsored their team tracksuits this year. Inner Depth Kung Fu and Tendu dancewear also supported the team with generous contributions to cover costumes and essential kit. “Whilst we are exceptionally proud of these successes, the school offers a friendly, nurturing environment for children to flourish and enjoy dance at all levels of commitment“ said principle Louise Knapman-Singh. “Our term starts back on September 11th and we welcome children of all ages to come along and have a look or even try a taster class.”

Tavistock Inn One of England’s oldest pubs, Tavistock Inn dates back to about 1413 when Newbridge was built. The bridge was “new” when it was built- hence it’s name - and so was the pub, a welcome stop for weary travellers who had just climbed Newbridge hill. And little has changed, for good beer, wines, spirits and soft drinks, including a fine selection of real ales are still dispensed to visitors from near and far, together with some of the best pub food you’ll find in Devon with local produce being used when available. Poundsgate, Dartmoor, TQ13 7NY. Tel: 01364 631251.

The Globe Inn The Globe’s life as a coach house started way back in the 1600s, and since then its role in the community hasn’t much changed. Of course, the building is now much warmer and the plumbing much more reliable, but some things just don’t change. Comforting home-cooked food comes out of the kitchen, and the two well-stocked bars all serve the finest local tipples. 9 High St, Chagford, Newton Abbot, Devon. Tel: 01647 433485.

Cromwell Arms This award-winning pub which sits at the gateway to the Moors in Bovey Tracey is a comfortable and friendly spot for beer drinking. Rooms are available, and the food here is great, but, as a village pub, the atmosphere is second to none. Log burners keep the place toasty in the colder months, and the sunny lawn is popular in summer. Fore St, Bovey Tracey, Devon Tel: 01626 833473.

Bearslake Inn The Bearslake is what we call a real pub, and by that we mean that locals don’t even have to ask the bar staff for their next drink. The restaurant here is of exceptionally high quality, and a good selection of beers are available. Bearslake is believed to have once been a working farm that dates all the way back to the 13th century, so there’s a hell of a lot of history in these walls! Widecombe in the Moor, Newton Abbot, Devon. Tel: 01364 621327.

The New Inn The New Inn is just about everything you could wish for from a country pub. Full of character, great beers, better food and a welcome atmosphere. Green Hill, Sampford Courtenay, Okehampton, Devon. Tel: 01837 82247.

Dartmoor Halfway Inn The Dartmoor Halfway Inn food is locally sourced where possible and is freshly cooked to order. The specials board changes daily and the menus with the seasons. ANNOUNCES MAJOR 2022 EUROPEAN HEADLINE TOUR Emerging to a wealth of critical acclaim, Gary Numan’s new album ‘Intruder’ is out, and looks set to make a similar impact to 2017’s ‘Savage (Songs From A Broken World)’ which entered the charts at #2. Now Gary Numan can confirm details of his first European tour in support of the album, which commences in April 2022. Opening with eighteen-dates in the UK and Ireland, the tour includes Gary Numan’s first show at The SSE Arena, Wembley since he played three sold-out farewell concerts at the venue back in 1981. His return to the venue also represents the joint largest headline show that he has ever played in the UK- a

phenomenal and unusual achievement for an artist whose career spans over 40 years. Gary Numan commented: “To say I’ve missed touring would be a colossal understatement. It’s the life I chose when I was a teenager so not being able to tour the world has been very difficult. But now things are changing once again and the next UK tour has been announced and I am as excited as I was when all this started for me a lifetime ago. More so in fact. I can’t wait to walk out onto a stage again, to hear the roar of the crowd, the ear shattering volume of the music, to be bathed in light and soak up that emotion. It’s what I’m here for.”

You can see Gary Numan at the following venues in the Southwest: APRIL 2022 MAY 2022 28th - UK, Cardiff, The Great Hall 5th - UK, Bournemouth, O2 Academy 30th - UK, Bristol, O2 Academy 6th - UK, Plymouth, Pavilions

CROWN MATRIMONIAL By arrangement with Josef Weinberger

In 1980 the original Bijou Theatre staged this fascinating and gripping insight into the Abdication of 1936. This revival comes at a time when today’s Royal Family have experienced their own trials and tribulations echoing those of the Constitutional crisis of that year when the King renounced his throne for the love of Wallis Simpson – a twice divorced American socialite. In the 1980 production Wendy Caplan – the current Bijou’s Company Manage – played the part of the Duchess of York (who later became Queen Elizabeth and subsequently HM the Queen Mother). History is repeating itself in that Wendy’s daughter Sarah, well known to Bijou audiences, is reprising that role some 40 years later! Returning to direct is Andrew Kenyon who gave us the spine-tingling ‘Who Killed Santa Claus?’ in December 2018. Crown Matrimonial is a well-crafted and engrossing piece of theatre about the Abdication crisis of December 1936. The story of Edward VIII abdicating for the love of the twice-divorced American Wallis Simpson is well documented; what is not so well known is the effect his decision had on the protagonists in private.

The play centres on how the crisis affected the Royal Family’s inner circle; showing how deeply Edward was in love with Mrs. Simpson and his despair at not being able to marry her and remain on the throne; the fears his brother (George VI – the current Queen’s father) had about succeeding him and how their mother- Queen Mary- was concerned that the Monarchy would crumble under the scandal. December 10th this year marks the eighty-fourth anniversary of the signing of the Instrument of Abdication and films such as “The King’s Speech” and the award-winning series “The Crown” show how this story continues to fascinate. Performance dates are 24th -27th November 2021 at 7.30pm each evening and we look forward to seeing you at The Palace Theatre.

AMY DUNCAN

ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM ‘COCOON’ & RELEASES LEAD SINGLE “A DOOR IS OPENING” Acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Duncan has announced details of her new album ‘Cocoon’ and also recently released its lead single “A Door Is Opening” ‘Cocoon’ is the follow-up to 2020’s The Hidden World, from which the single “The Whole Town” received radio play on BBC Radio 2’s Folk Show and BBC6 Music’s Radcliffe & Maconie. After the events of the past seventeen months, the exquisite “A Door Is Opening” is relatable for all of us; “The songs from ‘Cocoon’ came out of the experience of the pandemic, and “A Door Is Opening” is about the momentous feeling of leaving the house for a walk during lockdown,” explains Duncan. “The simple action of opening the door and stepping out felt like a special occasion, knowing that it was the only choice to make.”

‘COCOON’ IS RELEASED NOVEMBER 26 2021 (ON FILLY RECORDS) + LIVESTREAMED ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW AT EDINBURGH VOODOO ROOMS

Duncan will launch Cocoon with a very special show at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh on November 21, which will also be livestreamed. She has also confirmed three shows for spring 2022: 19 April 2022 London, The Green Note 21 April 2022 Bath, Chapel Arts Centre 23 April 2022 Corsham, Pound Arts Centre

Blending warm yet minimal folk and electronica sounds with intimate vocals, Cocoon was recorded in Edinburgh with producer-engineer Cameron Malcolm, who produced Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile’s 2012 solo album Mid Air. Cameron is the son of Buchanan’s Blue Nile bandmate Calum Malcolm, who produced Duncan’s albums Cycles Of Life (2013), Undercurrents (2016) and Anitidote (2017), the former of which was released on The Blue Nile’s label Linn Records. Multi-instrumentalist Duncan plays keys, synths, electric guitar and electric upright bass on Cocoon, while her son Finn contributes acoustic guitar.

What makes a pantomime? All you need is: a sprinkle of Buttons, dash of ugly sisters, a pinch of a Prince, one loyal sidekick and a dusting of a Princess. Mix them all up, adding of course a flick of the wrist for that magical kick, to having the best loved Pantomime of all, Cinderella. Cinderella is making its way to the Princess Theatre.

James Arthur Highly Anticipated Tours of The UK, Ireland & North America James Arthur recently delighted fans by announcing tours of both the UK & Ireland and North America for spring 2022. James will tour the UK in March 2022, with dates including a special show at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. The North American dates follow in April and May. He will be performing songs from his upcoming new album, ‘It’ll All Make Sense In The End,’ alongside his classic hit singles and fan favourites. James says, “I’m beyond happy about getting back on the road and seeing everyone again. Playing shows for my fans gives me life and that’s been taken away for the best part of two years so, needless to say, I’m itching to get back out there and perform for them again. Coming to a stage near you soon!” The local UK are as follows; 5th March - Bournemouth International Centre 6th March - Plymouth Pavilions 11th March - Cardiff Motorpoint Arena

James Arthur has sold over 30 million records worldwide and has to date released three hugely successful albums - 'James Arthur' (UK No.2), 'Back From The Edge' (UK No.1) and 'YOU' (UK No.2) alongside nine solo UK Top 40 singles. He has had two No.1 smash hits and was awarded a disc for reaching a billion streams on Spotify with ‘Say You Won't Let Go’, the No.1 global hit that brought the singer-songwriter from Middlesbrough back from the edge (it currently has 1.7 billion streams on the platform). James recently dominated the airwaves and charts with his storming collaboration with Sigala, ‘Lasting Lover’. The track was a No.1 airplay song in the UK, No.1 on iTunes and Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart. James recently signed a new record deal in the UK with Columbia Records (a co-deal with Columbia Records Germany) and announced his new album, ‘It’ll All Make Sense In The End’ - his fourth longplayer release – which is set for release later this year.

Ann Reiter Art Jeiann Reiter also known as Ann Reiter, is a bright, up and coming self-taught German-Filipino abstract artist. Born in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines on the 8th of March in the year of 1997, she now resides in Devon, England. She has amassed an impressive international following of admirers on social media where she finds inspiration and support. Her medium however, is far removed from the digital world of manipulated images. She paints bold, active brush strokes, strategic uses of palette knives, sponges, and all kinds of art materials on small to large canvases. Her art is dynamic and raw. After discovering how the mere change of a few brush strokes could dramatically alter the emotions conveyed by watercolour and oil art mediums, she found her freedom in acrylic and abstraction. She has evolved to create a less representational visual language. Anonymous, sometimes obscured, express her personal reality filtered through feeling. In her recent paintings she has made a more or less complete retreat from representation. Reflecting her energy and state of mind when painting, colour will take precedence over shape, departing from the distraction of realism.

Although my personality is revealed through my art, I do not wish to force an interpretation upon my audience. Another thing I’d like to add is that many of us don’t like the feeling of buying something that’s mass-produced, so by doing my own original art and only offering in limited edition, I can bring you unique and out of the ordinary wall art that stands out from the mass productions while maintaining the feeling of exclusivity.

At 368 square miles (954 square kilometres), Dartmoor is the largest open space in southern England. It has wild open moorland, granite tors and wooded river valleys. At its edge is a landscape of small fields enclosed by stone walls and hedge banks. The open spaces and sheltered valleys give pleasure to millions of people every year. Dartmoor’s blanket bog, upland oakwood, caves and mines are among habitats of international importance. Dartmoor’s landscape is also among the richest in western Europe in terms of its archaeological remains. Dartmoor contains the longest stone row in the world (measuring 3.4km). In fact 60% of all stone rows to be found in England are on Dartmoor and the remains of over 5000 prehistoric hut circles (houses) can be seen. Dartmoor has the greatest number of archaeological sites out of all the UK National Parks. The National Park Visitor Centre at

Dartmoor Prison Museum

Postbridge has a superb collection of prehistoric finds on display as part of an exhibition telling the story of life death and landscape on prehistoric Dartmoor. This year prehistoric Dartmoor comes to the city with a major exhibition of the most important archaeological discovery ever made on the moor. The Early Bronze Age burial discovered on Whitehorse Hill contained a wealth of important finds including jewellery and organic remains and all will be on display at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery from 13 September to 13 December 2014. The newly refurbished and updated National Park Visitor Centre in Princetown has a superb free to enter exhibition area where you can find out about the National Park and discover more about the building’s connection with Conan Doyle and how he was inspired to write the Hound of the Baskervilles. My Hats

My & Kim Litchfield was born into the world of haute couture and fashion, her mother being trained at the leading fashion house of Norman Hartnell in the late 1940s early 50s as a seamstress and supervisor and, later, lecturing in fashion at Cheltenham College. Surrounded by her mother’s teaching and expertise, sewing machines, patterns and fabrics, Kim was inspired as a little girl to create clothes for her dolls and later, as a teenager, for herself. She discovered an innate ability to marry colours and fabrics together and style outfits. Kim’s working career has been varied. Armed with a degree in French and Italian and a hankering to travel, she taught English as a foreign language but returned to work in the ‘rag trade’. In London, Manchester and Hong Kong she worked in wholesale fashion houses selling high end brands such as Jaeger and Christian Dior to UK retailers as well as other beautiful creations to stores such as Harrods and Selfridges. Having settled in Devon, Kim is now fulfilling her desire to be creative again and loves making outfits for others. Alongside her creativity Kim continues to offer her holistic therapies and teachings, which she has practised for 30 years.
