Play Hard Hoops Spring Youth Basketball League

The professional coaches from Play Hard Hoops teach the fundamentals of the sport in an encouraging environment in order to develop young basketball players of all ages and ability. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and the overall benefits of having a positive attitude or emphasized along with game concepts that build a passion for the sport. Play Hard Hoops Philosophy: Dedicated to teaching the game of basketball while stressing sportsmanship, teamwork, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude on and off the court. Play Hard Hoops feels privileged to be in the position of educating young people through the greatest game in the world-basketball. The goal is for each player to have a great time regardless of age or ability and to foster an encouraging environment where players are excited to learn and improve each day. Play Hard Hoops camps consist of skill and fundamental work on dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and offensive footwork. Play Hard camps will also teach team offensive and defensive concepts, so that players improve their fundamental skill, knowledge of the game, and understanding of how to become a better basketball player individually and as a team.

Summer Adult Basketball League

Location: CRC

Registration Deadline: 5/21

This 18+ Adult Basketball League features an eight week regular season followed by a single-elimination playoff tournament. Cash prizes are awarded to the top teams. Games will vary between 4:00pm-9:00pm on Sunday's. All games are played at the Community Recreation Center. Contact Ryan Jones at rjones@wheelingparkdistrict. com for more information. No Games 7/2.

Chicago Union Ultimate Disc Camp

Location: Heritage Park Sports Complex

Ultimate is a fast, fun, easy-to-learn field game played with a disc. It is a non-contact sport combining the athleticism of running and agility with the skills of throwing and catching. Players advance the disc by completing passes to teammates. The Chicago Union offers this week-long camp introducing basic rules, throwing and catching techniques, and offensive/defensive strategies to develop skills through games and activities that emphasize teamwork, good spirit, and the joy of play. Participants also receive a Union disc, replica jersey, and 4 tickets to a home game. All ability levels are encouraged to join.

Camisa10 Soccer Training

Location: Heritage Park Soccer Basin

Registration Deadline: 4/23 & 6/11

Camisa10 Training will be offering an intensive, fun-filled 6-week soccer program. Our coaches have competed at the highest levels in the Americas and in Europe and are offering to help take you game to the next level! Your child will learn proper technique and find a newfound love for the game by learning to play a creative and beautiful style taught by some of the best technical coaches in the state! All levels welcome!

Little Champions League

Location: Heritage Park Soccer Basin

Registration Deadline: 8/31 $10 Late fee applies to any registration after deadline

Creative and fun approaches introduce soccer fundamentals. All participants will be engaged in soccer activities and exercises that will assist in motor development. The first 25 minutes are instructional and the last 35 minutes teams are created and the participants play 4 v 4 soccer games.

Fall House Soccer League

Location: Heritage Park

Registration Deadline: 8/31

The Wheeling Park District is dedicated to providing a structured soccer league that provides children with the opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer! The league consists of a weekly practice and six weekend games. Leagues may be combined with neighboring districts for games at various locations. Practice nights will vary based on the availability of volunteer coaches. All levels are coed. All new players must purchase a league uniform to participate. Two jerseys (yellow and blue) are available to purchase at the CRC. Uniform not included in registration fee.

Volunteer coaches are needed to coach all youth soccer teams. Please sign up to coach a team at the time of registration.

Bunny Hop Pickleball Tournament

Location: Chamber Park Courts (Indoors at CRC if inclement weather)

Registration Deadline: 4/2

Sign up with a teammate and join us for the day at Chamber Park Courts in Wheeling for an unsanctioned just for fun Pickleball Tournament. Teams will play a round robin format. Winners will receive prizes. Water and lights snacks provided. The tournament is divided into Social and Competitive Levels within each division. Sign up for MIXED, MENS, or WOMENS Divisions. Players are encouraged to bring a chair and plenty of water. Sign up as a team and pay a team fee.

Outdoor Pickleball Beginner Clinics

Location: Chamber Park (indoors at CRC if inclement weather)

Registration Deadline: 1 week before

Commit to learning the game of Pickleball with other beginners in this 2 hour beginner clinic. These sessions are a great way for brand new players to learn the sport of Pickleball. Players will learn the basics of play including stroke mechanics, how to serve, dink, drive and more in drill and game-based scenarios. By the end of the session, players will have the confidence to participate in drop-in pickleball programs.

DINK WITH RICK AND LEARN A TRICK! IMPROVE YOUR GAME AND TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. RICK WILL DRILL WITH ALL TYPES OF PLAYERS AND WORK ON THE DIFFERENT SKILLS NEEDED TO ELEVETE YOUR GAME. TURN YOUR WEAKNESS INTO STRENGTHS. SIGN UP TODAY FOR 30 MINUTE SESSIONS.

Little Dinkers Pickleball Clinics

Register for the Little Dinkers! These one day clinics will introduce kids to the game of Pickleball! Players will learn the basics of pickleball including stroke mechanics, how to serve, volley, dink, drive, score and more in drill and game based scenarios. Kids will have fun playing with other kids and gain a better understanding of the sport. Pickleball Paddles will be provided. Limited spots are available! Sign up now!

Youth Sports Conditioning

Location: Health & Fitness Center

The Wheeling Park District is offering safe and effective training for youth athletes looking to enhance their abilities. This program will focus on developing speed, strength and fundamental athletic skills. Participants will be taught proper training methods they can use to prevent injury in the future. Athletes will meet once every week and utilize our Health and Fitness Center, Indoor Track, and Heritage Park. This program will not only make you faster and stronger but gain confidence and improve overall athleticism. No class on July 5.

Youth Circuit Training

Location: Health & Fitness Center

A fun full-body strength and core class using a variety of strength training equipment such as TRX, Bosu, stability balls, bands, medicine balls and dumbbells along with a mix of cardio exercise. Participants will combine simple and compound exercises to strengthen muscles, burn calories, and ignite the metabolic system. The program will meet once a week and utilize our Health and Fitness Center, Indoor Track, and Heritage Park. No class July 6.
