T
he Allenberry Resort in Boiling Springs, Cumberland County, has seen many changes over the years, but one thing that has been a constant is the bucolic landscape that has drawn guests for 75 years. The original tract of land was granted to James Crockett (a distant relative of Davy) in 1786. Crockett built two of the existing limestone buildings – a small two-story dwelling situated on the bank of the Yellow Breeches Creek, now known as the Still House, and a large bank barn known as Fairfield Hall, which houses The Barn Restaurant.
