hen a city is known for “What happens here, stays here,” and goes by the nickname Sin City, images that spring to mind are that of excesses, glitz, adult entertainment and debauchery. And while there’s a lot of that in Las Vegas, it’s also selling this city a bit short. In fact, what makes Vegas one of the top tourist destinations in the world is its many natural and man-made wonders. And many of those are the very reason it’s worth seeing the city through different eyes—one that doesn’t require leaving the children behind. So whether you’re in town with friends, family or for fun, allow us to take you beyond the obvious. Our The Kids Are Alright feature focuses on waterpark fun that run the gamut from chilling on the water to thrill rides, including surfing and gliding past sharks. Then are the animal attractions that cover the tame (flamingos, dolphins), the ferocious (lions, tigers), and the terrifying—at North America’s only predator-based aquarium and exhibit. We’ve even pulled together dining options that are sure to sate children and adults alike. Our One Block turns the spotlight on the Excalibur-Luxor-Mandalay Bay group. Whether you’re looking for indoor thrills, top-notch shows or a variety of views, you’re covered. The Calendar has our favorite acts in music, magic and comedy, then there’s our guide, which leads the way in options for entertainment, dining, shopping, nightlife and more. Viva Las Vegas—you’re in a city where the fun just never ends.
