Local theater lovers will want to put the next Mounds View High School production on their calendars. “The Comedy Of Errors: Masquerade” takes the stage four times: Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 1-3, including one matinee on Saturday. The new law aims to eliminate that possibility by disallowing anything but fishing equipment from

State statute 97C.363 reads: “A person using a shelter, a motor vehicle, or any other conveyance on the ice of state waters may not deposit garbage, rubbish, cigarette filters, debris from fireworks, offal, the body of a dead animal, litter, sewage or any other waste outside the shelter, motor vehicle or conveyance…” In other words, none of those things can contact the ice at any time, including fish intended to be kept. The only exception given is that such items may be placed in a container “that is secured to the shelter, motor vehicle, or conveyance.” Conservation officer Matthew Paavola has been stationed in the northeast metro area for the last year.
