TO OUR READERS
W elcome to the White Bear Area Community Insiders’ Guide. This publication is brought to you by The White Bear Press in cooperation with our advertisers. We hope you’ll use this guide as a road map of your community to become better acquainted with community services, local government, education, health care, commerce, and entertainment that make this area a great place to live, work and play.
The past two years were difficult, and impacted our ability to get out and do many of the things we enjoy. As we continue into 2022, local businesses, restaurants, parks and other entertainment venues are thriving again. Community events and festivals are back this year, and there are recreational and entertainment opportunities in our area to fit every interest. You will learn more about them in this guide.
Some activities and locations may still have modified hours or schedules, so we always recommend readers call or check the websites we provide prior to venturing out.
Your community newspaper is your best source of local news and information. Our group of locallyowned newspapers includes the White Bear Press, the Shoreview Press, the Vadnais Heights Press, North Oaks News, the Citizen, the Quad Community Press, and the Lowdown. Our readers enjoy our hyper-local, relevant news coverage both in print and online, and we enjoy the community’s
support through our subscription program. You can find local news, information and features in the White Bear Press, published weekly and distributed to homes and newsstands throughout the communities of White Bear Lake, White Bear Township, Dellwood, Birchwood Village, Pine Springs, Grant, Willernie and Gem Lake. Visit us online at presspubs. com. If you have news to share or other ideas for this guide or the weekly paper, contact Amy Johnson, interim editor, at 651-407-1227 or whitebearnews@presspubs.com. The newsprint pages between the cover are produced from sustainable forests. Many of the inks we use are derived from soy-based products, and we ask you to please recycle by sharing it with a friend or neighbor when you are done. If you are an advertiser and would like to be involved in next year’s edition, please call 651-4071200 and ask for a Press multimedia representative.
