The 2023 Whitehorse Spring Festival will be held on Sunday 15 October, and community groups and not-for-profits can now apply for a stall.

The 2023 Spring Festival theme, Let’s Play, celebrates our community coming together and having fun through play. This year’s Spring Festival will be a showcase of all the ways children and adults in Whitehorse choose to play including through games, toys, sports, music, theatre, arts, crafts and imagination.

The Spring Festival will return to the Civic Centre Precinct in Nunawading, on the lawns surrounding The Round. The community participation options include: Performance on the main stage

A number of five-to-30-minute performance or demonstration spots are available for groups looking to showcase their talents at Spring Festival. All performances and demonstrations will be supported by a professional sound technician and stage manager.

Community stalls

Not-for-profit and community groups/organisations who are based in Whitehorse or provide services to its residents can apply for a Community Stall at Spring Festival. They can be used by groups to fundraise, distribute information or discuss projects with the local community.

L Applications for Spring Festival stalls close on Friday 18 August at 11pm. Apply online at yoursay.whitehorse.vic.gov.au/ whitehorse-festival-season

Whitehorse’s Battle Of The Bands contest is coming

Whitehorse’s FreeZa group, Flying Pig Events, is excited to announce details of the 2023 Whitehorse Battle of the Bands competition.

The event follows on from May’s All Ages Tour concert at Box Hill Town Hall, which was headlined by Jaguar Jonze and Teenage Dads and attended by about 500 people.

This year’s Battle Of The Bands will be held on Saturday 16 September at Box Hill InstituteNelson Campus.

The Flying Pigs are a group of young people aged 12-25 who meet fortnightly and organise all ages, drug and alcohol and vape free events in Whitehorse through the State Government’s FreeZa program.
