THIS METHOD ENCOMPASSES A LITERAL TAKE ON CONVERTING THE SHAG CARPET, A HOMEWARE ITEM INTO A WEARABLE GARMENT. THE CAPSULE COLLECTION SUBVERTS ELEMENTS OF ICONIC SIXTIES FASHION BY INCORPORATING A CONTEMPORARY COLOUR PALLET, CREATING A HARMONY BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT. THIS ARCHITECTURAL MASTERPIECE IS CONSTRUCTED ENTIRELY FROM ORGANIC, ROUNDED FORMS AND REFLECTS THE WORK OF PIERRE CARDIN IN THE 1960’S. THE DESIGNER DESCRIBED THE STRUCTURE AS ‘A MUSEUM WHERE I EXHIBIT THE WORKS OF CONTEMPORARY DESIGNERS AND ARTISTS’ (BULLES, 2022) THE SMOOTH SURFACE OF THE ENTIRE STRUCTURE CREATES A FEELING OF SOFTNESS AND THE CELLULAR SHAPES REFLECT CARDIN’S SPACE AGE, FUTURISTIC DESIGNS.
