Known for its brewing history and industrial heritage, Burton o with its convenient central location in East Staff The central location makes Burton on Trent and the surrounding area a frequent destination for business visitors. Burton on Trent Golf Club is a golf course steeped in history, with over 100 years of competitive play at its current historic location. It is set in 150 acres of woodland in a tranquil setting near Bretby on the outskirts of Burton on Trent. An undulating golf course set in 120 acres of land, its tree lined fairways require accuracy from the tee. With three of the four par 3’s being uphill it makes them difficult holes. The fast sloping greens require a gentle touch. The 6579-yard course is one of the finest in the Midlands providing a stern test for golfers of all levels. The mature course offers a serious challenge from beginner to even the lowest handicapper with accuracy, course management and shot selection being critical to maintain a low score. Visitors can relax in the comfortable surroundings of the Clubhouse, where a warm and friendly welcome awaits. Serving a wide range of beverages and food, from a light bite through to a more substantial meal for the healthier appetite, these can be enjoyed in the Bar or Restaurant. Catering is offered for private functions held at the club, whether a sit down meal or a buffet.

Highly experienced head professional Gary Stafford also runs the Pro-Shop. Gary and colleague Ben Jenks offer a custom fitting facility on Ping golf clubs and throughout the year Gary organises Ping and Cobra fitting days. The shop offers the new range of Puma, Footjoy and Ping range of Gents clothing and carries a large range of Ladies clothing from Glenmuir, Island Green and Puma. Both Gary and Ben work on coaching with all levels of golfer and can organise a programme to suit individual needs. They are also coaching juniors throughout 2019.

The Golf Club is a very popular choice for societies, welcoming groups of 16 and above on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. A wide choice of menu, excellent facilities and 18 holes or 27 holes of golf on the excellent Harry Colt designed course ensures everyone has a memorable day.

Sherwood Forest Golf Club ‘Breathtaking Beauty’ Your East Midlands Golfer focusing on bringing readers the best golf course and club facilities in the region, providing a comprehensive which will help organisers arrange their calendars for the forthcoming golfing season.

One of the oldest and finest heathland golf courses in Great Britain and a regular feature in the Top 100 Courses, the course was initially designed by Harry Colt, but was later enhanced by legendary golf course architect, James Braid.

The East Midlands is packed full of fantastic golf courses and is home to many hidden parkland gems. However, one course stands tall above all others due to its history, pedigree and golfing excellent.

The par 71 golf course measures a whopping 6,835 yards from the championship tees and features no less than ninety one bunkers as well as long carries over punishing swathes of heather. The Leicestershire Golf Club A beautiful parkland course founded in 1890

Located in the heart of England, the land-locked county of Leicestershire is definitely one where visitors are able to experience the great outdoors and, one of the friendliest regions that you’ll come across on your golfing travels. Leicestershire encompasses stunning countryside and some of the country’s finest golf courses. For a real taste of the golf courses that are located in Leicestershire, you’ll need a few days to soak it all up. With this in mind, the county offers a mixture of accommodation providers, each with attractive packages for visiting golfing groups. With the Rivers Soar, Avon and Welland meandering through the county, Leicestershire has become increasingly well known for its impressive collection of parkland golf courses; some of which have produced some fine golfers such as two times British Amateur champion and Walker Cup legend, Gary Wolstenholme. Founded in 1890, The Leicestershire Golf is the oldest golf club in the county.


This beautiful parkland golf course, standing to the south of the city of Leicester, features mature, tree-lined fairways and US GA Spec greens of the finest quality which challenge low-handicappers whilst remaining suitably playable for all standard of golfer. The Leicestershire course was extended in 1936 by Major Charles Mackenzie, the brother of legendary golf course architect, Alistair Mackenzie and, was subsequently altered by C.K. Cotton.

The Leicestershire’s unique, circular clubhouse boasts superb views across the golf course and offers excellent facilities for relaxing, dining and entertaining. The Club is home to a beautifully-appointed restaurant on the upper-level of the clubhouse where guests can enjoy panoramic views over the course. The restaurant serves everything from bar snacks through to three course meals in a comfortable, relaxing environment.
