Established in 1887, Cleveland Golf Club features a true championship links golf course. Which is recognised as the oldest course in the county of Yorkshire, Initially a 9-hole course and later extended to 18 holes in 1890, in 1898 the club commissioned ‘Old’ Tom Morris to travel south and run his eye over the course, later being quoted as saying “Cleveland Golf Club has all the hallmarks of being a first-rate course.
The Club has hosted many county and professional competitions over the years including, most recently, the English Golf Union county finals in 2007.
Boasting spectacular views across the beautiful North East coastline, the Cleveland course represents a true test of golf especially when the wind is blowing!

Cleveland Golf Club moved into a new clubhouse in April 2002, which was officially opened by Sir Michael Bonallack on 31st May 2002. The modern clubhouse features a comfortable bar and lounge area on its upper level with magnificent views across the course and further out to sea.
The well-stocked, friendly bar is light and spacious with sports television and a full-size snooker table.
The golf club prides itself on excellent catering and offers special lunches and menus six days a week. Cleveland GC hosts many social events throughout the year as well as regularly catering for visiting groups.
Societies and corporate golf visitors are welcome to Cleveland Golf Club throughout the year. The Club offer a variety of packages which can be tailored to meet the needs and requirements of groups of eight or more golfers.

Newbiggin Golf Club

The North East Coast of England is amongst some of the most rugged and charming coastlines in the whole of the UK. It has plenty of golf courses to choose from and is a wonderful destination for a UK golf holiday.
Idyllically located in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Newbiggin Golf Club’s superb course features in Today’s Golfer Top 200 golf courses. The 18 hole coastal links golf course makes use of its surrounding terrain and is open to the elements calling for accuracy and bravery from tees to greens!
The course plays as a Par 72 from the championship white tees. With a WHS course rating of 72.40 and slope rating of 135, Newbiggin represents a fair but testing challenge for even the most accomplished of golfer, especially when the wind is blowing!
The current clubhouse building at Newbiggin Golf Club was opened in 1973 and is home to a friendly, welcoming ambience. Members and visitors can enjoy a drink or bite to eat in the clubhouse’s comfortable surroundings whilst enjoying stunning views over the golf course
. The spacious bar also features a full size snooker table.
Societies and travelling golfers are welcome throughout the week with the Newbiggin professional team on hand to help coordinate the golf day to create the most fantastic of memories at Newbiggin Golf Club.

Seaton Carew Golf Club 10th Oldest Club In England
Founded in 1874, Seaton Carew Golf Club will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2024 and the club has a rich golfing history as the 10th oldest in England. It was also the first to be established in the counties of Durham & Yorkshire, something which is still celebrated on the club’s crest and in its original name of Durham & Yorkshire Golf Club.
As part of its anniversary activities, Seaton Carew will be hosting England Golf’s premier tournament, the English Amateur Championships which take place between the 28th of July and 4th of August. The 2024 event will be even more significant because it’s also the governing body’s centenary year.
Uniquely, Seaton Carew has 22 holes which are played as two different layouts, although only one is in play at a given time. The Old Course, played mainly in the winter, and the Micklem, used in the summer, each have differing WHS course and slope ratings, both making for an enjoyable test of golfing ability.
The Old Course is the creation of legendary golf architect, Dr Alister MacKenzie, whilst the Micklem includes three holes designed by Frank Pennink. The latter will be used as the venue for the English Amateur Championships. The club is very proud of its MacKenzie heritage and is currently working with MacKenzie & Ebert to restore many of the bunkers to the great doctor’s original designs.
The fast-draining soil means golf can be played almost 365 days a year at Seaton Carew making it a very attractive winter golf destination. Golfers often compliment the club on the tightly-mown fairways and fast running greens as they thread their way between almost one hundred deep-faced bunkers and contend with whatever the elements throw at them. One thing’s for sure, breaking par will be quite an achievement!
The superbly appointed clubhouse is home to relaxing bar and lounge areas, and the popular Bunting Lounge offers traditional home-cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The club is renowned in the north-east for excellent dining options and fine hospitality, and visitors are welcome to relax in the historic Captains’ Corner surrounded by 150 years of past club dignitaries.
Whether an individual golfer or part of visiting group, Seaton Carew is the ideal place for a great day’s golf. Societies are welcomed from 11am onwards with a variety of golfing packages available.
For those new to the region, Hartlepool has a long fishing heritage, the nearby River Tees is still a major seaport and the town’s marina is home to a sizeable fleet of leisure craft. It’s also home to the sailing frigate HMS Trincomalee, now a floating museum, which is based next to the National Museum of the Royal Navy. The town also boasts miles of wonderful sandy beaches and there are plenty of seaside attractions in the village of Seaton Carew. From affordable B&B’s to luxury hotels the region offers a host of accommodation options for those wishing to spend a few days soaking up the north-east hospitality.

South Shields Golf Club

South Shields is a coastal town in South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, on the south bank of the mouth of the River Tyne. The town is known for its golden sands and scenic cliffs with uninterrupted views out to the North Sea.
From the friendly nature of the locals to the breath-taking scenery, a stay in South Shields is sure to be an enjoyable one.
Founded in 1893, South Shields Golf Club is set in coastal heathland in the shadow of Cleadon water tower which can be seen from miles around.
The golf course was designed by legendary golf course designers Dr Alister Mackenzie and James Braid and presents a fair test for players of all abilities. With magnificent views over the Tyne Estuary and south to the Cleveland Hills, the course is complemented by excellent drainage and is playable all year round.
Easy walking and playing as a Par 71 from the championship white tees, South Shields has a WHS course rating of 70.9 and a slope rating of 126 making it an enjoyable course for all.
Visitors can be assured of a warm welcome in the South Shields GC clubhouse building which features comfortable lounge and dining areas with picturesque views over the course and surrounding countryside.
Societies are welcome with a number of customisable options available. The competitively priced gold, silver and bronze packages can be added to depending on the groups’ requirements whilst the club’s Professional team will be on hand to assist during the event, as well as organise on course competition such as longest drive nearest the pin.
