Your Golfer Magazine’s Welsh Golf Club of the Year, Abersoch Golf Club is located on the beautiful, Cambrian Coast in Snowdonia, North Wales; Abersoch Golf Club is much sought after and highly regarded as arguably, ‘the friendliest golf club in Wales’. Whilst Abersoch extends a warm welcome to visitors, societies and visiting golfing parties, it now has a new addition which blends the traditional golf club with a modern, fun approach to the game. The golf club’s latest upgrade is a state-of-the-art Simulator Room where golfers can play a range of golf course from across the world, practice all aspects of their game, and get their clubs fitted in time for the new season. A fabulous addition to the clubhouse, the Simulator Room allows guests to bring their own clubs or hire some from the club to take on some of the world’ most famous golf course, including Pebble Beach, Celtic Manor, Carnoustie, Royal Birkdale and Wentworth. The club’s teaching professionals will also use the simulator facility for lessons, club fittings and coaching sessions where they are able to give members an idea of their distance control in the comfort of a warm studio.

The course itself provides a mixture of testing links holes along the stunning sand dunes and beach, after which you will find yourself meandering back inland to play a set of five, beautifully landscaped, parkland holes. This in itself will provide a true test to any visiting golfer as you will be playing links golf and a parkland course on the same 18 holes!! Alan (the resident professional at Abersoch) is happy to extend the club’s renowned warm welcome and is available for lessons should you wish to sharpen up any part of your game whilst playing the course. It may also be a good idea to take some time with Abersoch’s professional to improve your skill and mastery of the game, along with some tips on how to play some of the trickier holes!! The Club House offers a therapeutic patio area to enjoy your food and drinks while overlooking the 1st Tee and the 12th and 18th greens. Drinks can also be enjoyed by the bar for chit chat with other members making a relaxing atmosphere for making new friends. Food and catering is also available with an extensive menu and bespoke tastes catered for. Societies are more than welcome with some excellent deals currently being offered to play this wonderful panoramic course nestled in one of the most popular parts of North Wales. The West Coast of Cumbria features a fabulous abundance of golf courses representing different challenges, whilst matching all levels and experience. A jewel in the crown of the West Coast’s golfing charm is, Seascale Golf Club with its views of the Isle of Man; Scotland to the West and the mountains of the Lake District to the east. Founded 1893, the traditional links golf course was designed by renowned duo, Willie Campbell and George Lowe. Today, the coastal links is maintained to the highest of golfing standards. Born into abject poverty, John Henry Taylor (1871 - 1963) was a Devonshire man through and through. Working his way from an 11 year old caddie to turning Pro at 19, he reached the very highest echelons of the game. Apart from winning the Open Championship on no less than 5 times between 1894 to 1913, "JH" also captained the British Ryder Cup in 1933 and was also the first player to score 4 sub 80 rounds in a major. "JH" was also a founding father of The Professional Golfers' Association. Bigbury Golf Club are proud to have JH Taylor as part of its history and to this day are indebted to him for designing our beautiful course, having a large influence in the game we see today and allowing us to have an everlasting association with such a pioneer of the game.

A gem in the north of Wales

The par 71 Porthmadog golf course stretches over 6, 326 yards from the championship tees. The front nine is predominantly set on a heathland layout whilst, the course’s back nine has more of a links style to it. Each loop of nine provides stunning views of the Cardigan Bay coast and the Snowdonia mountain range.

Society groups are welcome to Porthmadog Golf Club throughout the year with a variety of competitively-priced packages which can be tailored by a variety of bespoke arrangements. Discounts are available for groups of 12 or more.
