Over 100 Years of Golfing History
Established in 1907, Llandrindod Golf Club has been welcoming golfers for over 100 years. The golf course was the brainchild of a group of local businessmen who identified land overlooking the Victorian Spa town as the ideal location for an 18hole golf course to serve the visitors that flocked to the town to ‘take the waters’. Designed by six times Open Champion, Harry Vardon and altered some years later by the legendary golf course architect, James Braid; Llandrindod Wells is a member of the Heart of Wales Golf Breaks group offering affordable golfing holidays in central Wales. Sculptured from the natural contours of the landscape, the upland links golf course provides a true test for golfers of all abilities combining the natural turf banks, hazards and well-protected true running greens for an enjoyable day’s golf.

The beautifully-appointed, Llandrindod Wells clubhouse features a recently refurbished restaurant which can seat up to 70 people for a formal dinner as well as a comfortable space to relax following completion of your round. Golf societies are welcome through the year on weekends and weekdays. The Llandrindod Wells golf course is a fantastic ‘competition course’ with the aptly named, ‘Death or Glory’, 18th hole providing the decider for many a match. The golf club can offer society organisers a fully flexible day with three specially designed society packages available. Famed for its beautiful beaches and views, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park features its own championship parkland venue, Milford Haven Golf Club. On April 3rd 2019 the club held the opening ceremony and competition to celebrate the redesign of the signature 18th hole. ‘Fountain View’, the new eighteenth hole at Milford Haven Golf Club was formally opened by a group of rugby players from the current Welsh national team and led by Welsh rugby legend Scott Quinnell. The opening was followed by a Texas Scramble where some of the Welsh heroes played in groups alongside existing Milford Haven members.
The Welsh Rugby Stars open the new 18th at Milford Haven. For the development of the 18th, Milford Haven’s management team obtained the architectural services of well-known and experienced course developer, Marc Westenborg who set about utilising the natural landscape which encompassed the existing green. Marc added a water feature adjacent to the Pine trees to create indecision as to taking the driver or laying up and also added two new bunkers to guard the front left hand side of the putting surface. The new 18th at Milford Haven represents a challenge to golfers and calls for a few decisions to be made when standing on the 18th tee!
The imposing Milford Haven clubhouse building overlooks Fountain View and contains all of the amenities that you would expect from a first class golfing venue. The club’s first class facilities include Fountain View restaurant, serving mouth-watering dishes to suit all palates, well-stocked bars and comfortable lounges with stunning views over the golf course.
