PROGRAMME INFORMATION This programme is based on an extension of the language base, developing use of Māori language, history and tikanga. It covers pānui, whakarongo, tuhituhi, kōrero, paki, ōkawa, kīwaha, whakatauākī, whaikōrero, karanga, haka, karakia, waiata, waiata-ā-ringa and waiata tawhito. It is structured and delivered in a way that allows students to learn according to their specific needs. Weekend wānanga, Rumaki Reo, peer and group exercises, use of rākau, role modelling and pōwhiri are included.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to be able to engage in te reo Māori in a variety of settings – both social and formal. These skills will enhance career opportunities.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Domestic: National Certificate in Reo Māori (Level 4) or equivalent International: IELTS 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0)
