Programme information The Film School is the only industry run school of its kind in New Zealand. It is unique, with its visiting tutor programme where tutors come into the school direct from industry to teach all there is to know about film and television. An intensive programme is offered to students in preparation for entry into the world of filmmaking. The aim is to turn out producers, directors and technical crews of the future. Numerous projects including documentaries, five minute dramas and two end-of -year films are worked on by students. All of which are written, directed and crewed by them. A range of skills are obtained over the year of the programme including camera, digital media, directing, sound, lighting, production management, editing, script writing, art department and other specialties. Films produced at the Film School have been selected and screened at several international and New Zealand film festivals.
