COVID-19 Continues its Deadly Assault on America California Faces Shutdown While District’s Deaths on Decline

Through a tumultuous series of events occurring over the past few months, Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder and leadership worked in unison on July 3 to jreview the name change of one of the oldest football teams in the NFL. Just 10 days later, the organization announced that the team would retire the name “Redskins” and its logo of a Native American man. “On July 3rd, we announced the commencement of a thorough review of the team’s name,” the franchise said in a statement. “That review has begun in earnest. As part of this process, we want to keep our sponsors, fans and community apprised of our thinking as we go forward. Today, we
In early October 2018, a Washington Post report asked if the Democrats had the wherewithal to rally behind a leader who could both unify the part and provide a clear message and platform for voters. Since then, we have seen a growing list of women, particularly those of color, who have emerged as potential running mates for former Vice-President Joe Biden – the party’s presumptive candidate – who could help the Democrats regain the White House.
And in a recent panel of Democratic primary voters, mostly in states that held early primaries, the results indicated that most citizens prefer seeing Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) as Biden’s running mate – refuting a more representative poll that had Warren leading although both polls showed majority support for a woman of color as VP. Still, the Monmouth University study should not be viewed as representative of the larger population as it only queried a randomly sampled panel of voters, primarily from four states. As the District continues to operate under Phase Two restrictions in efforts to curb the rise of COVID-10, DC Health Department reported on Monday that D.C. has experienced six days of sustained decrease in community spread with no additional coronavirus related deaths. Still, 568 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19 with 40 new positive cases, bringing D.C.’s overall positive case total as of July 13 to 10,946. Virginia reported 800 new cases on
