Message from MD The current situation in global finance is giving a vague scenario on how the real economy is developing. The economic crisis in 2008 was a kind of ”bank terror” and what is happening now has, among other things, to do with Southern Europe and its bad economy. Perhaps the title of ”state terror” is more appropriate? But we cannot deny a slowdown in the current global economy and to visualize the development period ahead is not clear. No big economic boom is expected in the short term.

Our sourcing of products and raw materials are all over the world in order for us to deliver products of high quality at the best price. Through our partnership with our clients, we develop new products catered to their specific needs. This is done in our own R & D and manufacturing operation in Piteå, where we currently have a production capacity of more than 50 000 tonnes per year.
Our logistic terminals are strategically located all over the country to quickly provide products when our customers need them. This results in both logistics and supply chain efficiencies on both parties. -Did you know that we owned 33 trucks, hires about 20 train wagons and manages nearly 100 boat shipments per year?
Including in our range of services to the clients, we help also with the service and maintenance tasks which we carry out both chemical and mechanical cleaning, as well as concrete repairs. All this enables Wibax to offer our customers a secure and reliable solution with the best overall cost efficiency. - This is Good Chemistry!

Bio oil Global Purchasing WIBAX strategy of global sourcing of raw materials and products extends to its bio oil business. The feedstock of plant based bio oils comes from different plant species. In the US, soya bean oil accounts for almost 90% of the total feedstock for bio fuel production from plant based source. In Europe, the most common feedstock is rapeseed oil. In Asia, there are several species of plants that can be used as bio fuel source like palm, coconut, jatropha, castor and cashew.
Think global, act local as a common cliche’ is never been more applicable in dealing with bio oil sourcing. To find the right product, high expectation is required from suppliers. An understanding of the local culture and language allows for better communication of the specification requirements. This is especially important when WIBAX demand Sustainability Certification of bio oil, requiring suppliers to uphold EU’s Renewable Energy Directive 2009/28/EG; sustainability criteria for liquid bio fuels. WIBAX Logistics has been named as 2011 Super Company for the third consecutive year by business intelligence company, PAR and business magazine, Veckans Affärer. The award is based on the Swedish stock companies financial performance. It takes into account the company’s growth, profit, yield, efficiency, capital structure and financing over the past four years. The number of companies on the list as super companies decreased in recent years. In 2011, there were 318 companies on the list compared to 434 companies in 2009. - The fact that we won this award for the third consecutive year is a very good proof that we are indeed succeeding in our continued effort to optimize our resources, says Jonas Wiklund, CEO WIBAX Logistics AB.

It has been 25 years ago since Bo Wiklund started WIBAX . Today, sales turnover of the group has reached almost half a billion Swedish crowns and has a total of 120 employees. On Saturday, the 8th of October 2011, the entire staff celebrated the 25th anniversary of the company and at the same inaugurated the new office and production facility in Piteå.

– 2011 Supplier to the SSAB Group
The idea behind the Swedish Steel Award is to award prize for innovative designs in high-strength steels. The prize is designed to inspire, encourage and disseminate knowledge about high-strength steel and the possibilities for developing lighter, safer and more environmentally friendly products.
Helen Lundstrom, Strategic Purchaser at SSAB was the one who nominated Wibax.
In addition, SSAB wants to show how important it is for them to have the right supplier partner and therefore would also include this in the Swedish Steel Award. SSAB Group has more than 8 000 different suppliers. Wibax is one of the 10 other suppliers awarded as “2011 Supplier of the Year to the SSAB Group”.
– I have been working as an account manager at the Wibax office in Stockholm for a little over four months. The work is stimulating and it feels great to work on sales in an industry branch that is related to my academic training. I feel incredibly good about my job. All my colleagues have been welcoming and supportive. It feels like I am a part of the WIBAX family even if it is just the beginning of my career in the company and I am far from the headquarters in Piteå.
