Welcome Secretary’s Report
Shari & Alison extended a warm welcome to everyone. Members had been e-mailed the April report. M. Campbell reported that she was listed as both present and absent on the April minutes, she will be changed to Absent. S. Hagyard asked that we not pressure members to volunteer at races, just let them know that opportunities exist. Motion to approve the March minutes as presented by S. Hagyard. 2nd by M. Campbell. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to approve the April minutes as amended by R. Tabbut. 2nd by TR Ramsdell. Motion carried unanimously. Treasurer’s report had been e-mailed. Current balance is $17,957.00. Sunshine Fund donations have gone out. Handwritten notes will be sent to the member to inform them of a donation. Motion by TR Ramsdell to accept the Treasurer’s Report as written. 2nd by A. Woolfenden. Motion carried unanimously. A Membership had been e-mailed by A. Woolfenden. Current member total = 254, 19 are new. Motion to accept the Membership Report as written by M. Jaynes. 2nd by A. Phelan. Motion carried unanimously. A Clothing report had been e-mailed by Michele Campbell. A clothing deposit for $286 was given to M Jaynes. Currently we are out of women’s M short and long sleeve shirts. M. Campbell is still exploring the on-line store option. Motion to accept the Clothing Report as written by A. Woolfenden. 2nd by R. TAbbut. Motion carried unanimously. T. Short explained that he is still waiting on the decision of the 2012 Convention, they have not made their decision yet. We want the designation of Outstanding Running Community from the RRCA. Nicole Short stated that there are two spots left on the wiffleball team, game to be held June 11. She requested $125 to pay for needed items. She is still looking for a spot to hold the game. John Mahoney reported that overall the volunteering was successful and people had a good time. More people were needed for take-down after the marathon. Some thought that people were too close together. The volunteers at Hopkinton had a great time, we will keep this option open for next year. S. Hewson stated that the Open House will take place at Forest River Park on June 4th from 9-11. There will be clothing for sale, the tent, banner, stickers and member applications. A group run should follow. Shari will bring bagels, Alison will bring coffee, Amber will bring Gatorade and Stephanie will bring water. Members should show up between 8/8:15 to set up. There are over 100 registrations as of now. Stephanie is working on volunteers. Alison explained that Comida, a local business,is looking to get involved with t-shirts

and discounts. Dave at NE Running will be involved with packet pick up. The next Miles meeting is on 5/9. The Wicked Kidz race will be held on July 9. Jason will be asked about water donations. Treadwells is being asked if they will provide ice cream. 20-25 volunteers will be needed.
The Marathon Relay is being held on June 25, the day prior to the Cancer Run. The No. Shore Striders and Wicked can mix and match a team if desired. Tim will send an e-mail out to the members tomorrow. Motion by M. Jaynesto allocate money for one team. Second by A. Woolfenden. Motion carried unanimously. There is a push to get the logo copywrighted. The website should be copywrighted also. S. Hewson will look into this. The manager at the Chick-Fil-A at the mall has left the store. Corporate is in there now and doesn’t know when they will have a new manager. We will not have them at the Wicked Kidz race this year. TR has the tent. Shari will purchase the table and bring it to the open house.
John Mahoney stated that the BAA is looking for volunteers for the 10K on June 26, which is the same day as the Cancer Run. P. Raymond stated that he is not able to check his e-mail until late in the day, and at that time some of the issues that have been brought to the table have already been resolved by the rest of the Board. There should be guidelines about what can and can’t be voted over e-mail. MOTION TO ADJOURN by A. Phelan, 2 nd by R. Tabbut 8:02pm Next Meeting; Monday, June 6, 2011 6:30pm at the Salem Senior Center
