HOPE AND DREAMS The star of Wik & Walsøe´s collection since the debut in 2007 has always been the little elf. She symbolizes dreams, hope and a belief in making the impossible, possible. Because she is such an important part of the Wik & Walsøe legacy she deserves some extra attention. For our gift collection, we have dressed her in real gold. Alv and Alv Gull consist of different variations of vases, light bowls and candle sticks produced in high-fired feldspar.

PURE WHITE SIMPLICITY Whitewood is perhaps the simplest and cleanest of Wik & Walsøe´s tableware design, but it is also one of the most interesting when it comes to texture. Barely there stripes circle the design, creating a soft, whispering form for minimalism. Whitewood consists of 14 pieces produced in high-fired feldspar.

ROSA SLÅPE | BONE CHINA
WILD BEAUTY Blackthorn (Prunus Spinosa) is a shrub in the rose family, which thrives in the open countryside or in coastal regions. In earlier times there was a belief that the plant had supernatural powers, and it has often been associated with witchcraft. Due to its branches that bear thick thorns, blackthorn can be perceived as a little wild and inaccessible – even though the flower is white and delicate. But when it flowers in early May, and basks in glow of the early morning sun, the flowers show themselves in a soft pinkish hue. These pink flowers adorn Wik & Walsøes new bone china tableware; Rosa Slåpe. The new tableware is subdued, elegant and slightly nostalgic – with its pink flowers dancing lightly on the edge of the tableware. It will look lovely against a simple backdrop of a white tablecloth and shining glass- and flatware, but will also work beautifully with other muted pastels or differing patterns. Rosa Slåpe consists of 16 pieces produced in bone china, with a fantastic translucency and a glossy and vitreous appearance. Tableware of bone china is perfect for special occasions.

Sharp knives might lead to scratches and puncturing of the glaze. If black lines appear the cause is most likely soft metal flatware, if you use quality 18/10 stainless steel flatware you will avoid the problem. Citric acid and a little water should easily remove the lines. Tea and coffee can also stain the porcelain, this will usually disappear if you let the porcelain soak a couple of hours with water and washing-up liquid before using the dishwasher.
