Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
The Wildflower Center is the Botanic Garden of Texas. Its mission is to inspire the conservation of native plants, which it does in a variety of ways. Founded in 1982 by Lady Bird Johnson and Helen Hayes, the Center is nationally renowned for its programs in plant conservation, ecosystem design, native plants, sustainable landscapes and education. The Center's home in Austin, Texas, demonstrates the ecological heritage of Texas through native plant gardens, the Texas Arboretum and the Luci and Ian Family Garden.
