An investigation into the Natural Heritage of the Republic of Ireland. This study looks at the fortunes of seventeen wildlife sites identified as potential nature reserves in 1914 (by the Society for the Promotion of Nature Reserves - SPNR, later The Wildlife Trusts). The sites include some of Ireland's most iconic landscapes - the Burren, Killarney, Ben Bulben and Mount Brandon.
