Workshops take place in a strategic area of Italy and on one of the Seven Hills of Ancient Rome, rich in fantastic locations for photography
A day in Rome for an Art and Photo Walk The Art and Photography in Rome workshop formats are based on four standards including a WEEK (with the option of a day in Tuscany), a WEEKEND, a series of six or twelve WEEKLY MEETINGS, a DAY for a Rome Art and Photo Walk (an artistic path following Stendhal’s footsteps in Rome). It’s possible to agree on different periods or alternative formats according to participants’ needs. Our goal is to focus together on any aspect of photography as an artistic expression, considering the camera as a means to give a shape to the photographer’s inner vision: a means, versatile and fundamental, but not an end. Photography is the tool to represent our frame of mind and set up a connection with the world around us. It also tells the world history as we search for our face in life’s thousand colours. The path we will take runs from OBSERVATION to INSPIRATION, from COMPOSITION to TRANSGRESSION, from DIGITAL OPTIMIZATION to ARTISTIC PHOTORETOUCH, from on-line SHARING to RELEASING, PRINTING, and MARKETING your photography, knowing for certain that, although it’s an art that uses a lot of technology, cameras don’t take photos but people do.

Workshops and tours have been devised with different characteristics for beginners and expert students and they are mainly based on developing observation, on studying composition and on enhancing self-expression through images. During the workshop Gabriel will work with you to boost your observation, shooting, processing your images, optimizing and artistically retouching, screening, sharing and printing your work in the exact same conditions and equipment that Gabriel shoots, processes, retouches and shares his work. During your tours in Rome you’ll discover an unknown and secret Baroque City, revealed through amazing details to shoot. All the more original for unique photo settings with extraordinary models that you’ll find along the path (in the previous page an image with Russian model Olga Matsyna posing in front of the Imperial Fora). Some workshop meetings include outdoor photo excursions, shooting with natural light. During our excursions we walk and observe: exploring, stopping, being surprised by the unpredictable. We photograph originality trying to see what other people watch. Some other workshop meetings include studio sessions, shooting with artificial light. We can work in a studio setting with highly professional and fascinating models for individual sessions of portrait and artistic nude photography.
