Hotel The landmark Willard InterContinental has played host to the world’s social and political leaders for well over a century. It was here that Julia Ward Howe wrote “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” where Abraham Lincoln stayed for one month before moving into the White House, where President Ulysses S. Grant popularized the term “lobbyist” and where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. finished his “I Have a Dream” speech. Located one block from the White House the Willard is internationally known as one of Washington’s finest hotels. Each of the Willard’s 335 guest rooms and suites feature flat screen televisions, high-speed Internet, coffee makers, dual-line phone with data port and voicemail, safe, bathroom phone, iron and ironing board, bathrobes and slippers, daily newspaper, dry cleaning and laundry and daily turn down service. The Willard InterContinental also offers many ways to relax while visiting the city including a complimentary modern fitness center and Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden.

The meeting facilities of the Willard have been the site of many prestigious meetings, conferences and social events. With 18 meeting rooms and over 22,000 square feet of event space, the Willard features unique and elegant function rooms including several ballrooms from which to choose.
