Walt Whitman mentioned the hotel in his works; and Mark Twain penned two books here in the early 1900’s. T H E C RYSTA L RO O M Evoking romantic elegance and intimacy, the sparkling Crystal Room shimmers in turn-of-the-century splendor. The Crystal Room was the original ballroom for the Willard InterContinental when it opened in 1901. It, too, has been brought back to its original design, with floor to ceiling windows, marble columns, and ornate hand-carved gold leaf crown-moldings.

Formerly the Willard Fine Dining Room, it has also been restored to its original design with six exquisite brass chandeliers, floor to ceiling windows, as well as hand-carved wood accents throughout the ceiling.

T H E G R A N D BA L L RO O M Few venues rival the Willard InterContinental’s Grand Ballroom with its buttercup yellow, pale blue, and soft green hues, beveled mirrors, crystal chandeliers and beautifully hand-painted landscape. Six hand-crafted crystal chandeliers serve as the focal point of the space. The Grand Ballroom also features a private reception space for cocktails and desserts.

Nestled between the Breezeway and CafÊ Du Parc, The Willard InterContinental’s Courtyard is an elegant, urban courtyard beautifully appointed with a two-tier water fountain which operates between Spring and Fall. The Breezeway beautifully bridges the two sides of the Willard Building, and creates an open, elegant atmosphere for cocktail receptions and intimate dinners. As it connects with the Courtyard, guests can flow in and out of the building and enjoy the best of both worlds.

T H E N E ST The Nest is full of natural daylight from the windows overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue. The elegant venue, offers a beautiful setting for daytime or evening events alike. This room is available for intimate events or as a perfect pairing for the Willard Room or other banquet rooms. The Nest is located on our mezzanine level, just above the Round Robin Bar and adjacent to the Scotch Bar. This well-appointed venue provides a full array of possibilities for your Wedding.

THE WEDDING CEREMONY Ceremony fees vary according to the amount of time and space required. Traditional one-hour Ceremonies start at $1,500.00 and include: Passed Sparkling Wine & Water Classic Gold Banquet Chairs Riser Microphone and Speaker Package with Technician Upgrade to Chivari Chairs for $6.50 Per Chair Plus a $200.00 Delivery & Pickup Fee** Upon arrival, your guests are greeted by white glove staff offering sparkling wine and water for a thirty minute period*. A two-hour time period is allotted for your Wedding Ceremony, including one hour of set up. Should you need additional time or have a more elaborate Ceremony, please contact your Catering Manager for pricing.

THE WEDDING DINNER Set a majestic stage for celebration at the Willard InterContinental, where a rich sense of history and tradition blends with dynamic downtown energy. Guests will enjoy a culinary feast customized and prepared for them by our critically acclaimed Executive Chef, Serge Devesa. Chef works with each of our couple’s to fuse culinary components that incorporate their personal tastes and preferences into all aspects of the menu.

Dinner service includes Stone Cellars Culinary Collection Wines and Chateau Saint Michelle Sparkling Wine for toasting. All dinner selections are served with a butter rosette, gourmet rolls and coffee & tea service. The Willard InterContinental is happy to accommodate any special meal requests for your Wedding. PRE-DETERMINED CHOICE MENU A pre-determined choice menu may be offered to your Wedding guests. The menu can include 3 choices of entrée (including vegetarian). The highest priced selection for each course prevails for all and the entrée accompaniments will be uniform for each guest. Guarantees for each course are due by noon, 5 business days prior to the Wedding and it is requested that a seating chart or individual place cards indicating your guests’ selections be provided to your Event Services Manager in alphabetical order.

WEDDING TASTINGS Weddings of 100 guests or more will enjoy a complimentary dinner tasting for up to four guests, and must be scheduled in advance. Wedding tastings are available between Monday - Thursday at 1:00pm, and must be scheduled with 20 days advance notice, pending availability of the culinary team. Tastings are scheduled approximately 60 days before your Wedding and are available only for the plated portion of the menu and your Wedding Cake. TABLE SETTINGS Selection of Damask Ivory or Golden floor length linens, white cloth napkins, five votive candles per table, your choice of charger plate, silverware and a selection of table number frames are included in the Package Price.
