• This is Tennessee’s first-ever NCAA Elite Eight appearance. After going 0-5 in NCAA Regional semifinal games, UT finally broke through to the Elite Eight with a 76-73 win over Ohio State Friday. • In terms of total wins, this is Tennessee’s second-best season of all-time (28). The 2007-08 team won a school-record 31 games. • Tennessee senior Wayne Chism owns the following school records in NCAA Tournament play: game played (10), wins (7) and total rebounds (54). His 123 total points ranks second only to Chris Lofton (130). • Tennessee is 17-2 this season when senior wing J.P. Prince scores in double figures. • Including Friday’s Sweet Sixteen triumph over No. 5 Ohio State, the Vols have now won four of their last six games against teams ranked in the top five of the AP poll. Under Bruce Pearl, Tennessee is 22-15 against AP top-25 teams. • UT joins Kansas, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina and Xavier as the only programs in America to reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in three of the last four seasons. • Tennessee is shooting .477 from the floor during the NCAA Tournament while holding opponents to .399 shooting. The Vols also boast a +6.3 rebounding margin in this year’s tournament.
