This objective of this project was to create a new home for the San Francisco Orchestra. The site was located in the city’s Golden Gate Park adjacent to Stow Lake and Strawberry Hill and in close proximity to Herzog and de Meuron’s de Young Museum. The program required a 1,300 person main concert hall as well as a 200 person chamber music hall.

SAN FRANCISCO MUSIC HALL The Ohio State University The Knowlton School of Architecture Instructor: Andrew Cruse Autumn 2016 Programs Used Rhinoceros 5 Grasshopper VRay Adobe Photoshop CC Adobe Illustrator CC Project Description The intent of this project was to introduce an urban building into a park setting as a means of connecting the lower level of the park landscape and the higher elevation of the lake. This was done by splitting the programmatic elements in a vertical fashion and the circulation in a sloping horizontal manner. This creates a vertical chamber between the main concert hall and the other program elements. This project placed second in a class wide competition.

REVEALING THE OREGON TRAIL “Revealing the Oregon Trail was an attempt to re-imagine the historical Oregon Trail in a contemporary context. We were tasked with designing a visitor center that would provide a home for exhibits about the trail as well as an historical archive for documents concerning the Oregon Trail.

REVEALING THE OREGON TRAIL The Ohio State University The Knowlton School of Architecture Instructor: Karen Lewis Spring 2015 Programs Used Rhinoceros 5 Grasshopper VRay Adobe Photoshop CC Adobe Illustrator CC Project Description The intent of this project was to push people out of their comfort zones and into the wilderness; not unlike the pioneers who were thrust into the frontier. The project’s site spans between a riverside piece of land and Goat Island in the Willamette River. The mainland portion contains a visitor center and the administrative suite while the island contains a campground and a communal hall.

THE BARACK OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY The Ohio State University The Knowlton School of Architecture Instructor: Jacqueline Gargus Autumn 2015 Programs Used Rhinoceros 5 Grasshopper VRay Adobe Photoshop CC Adobe Illustrator CC Project Description The objective was to create a building that acted as a sculptural object among the skyscrapers of Chicago. The intent was for the building to act as a city within itself with the large forms acting as the skyscrapers (self-containing programmatic entities) and the lower lobbies acting as the sidewalks and streets connecting them.

HUTCH CITY: THE HARE NET
(GROUP PROJECT) The Hare Net was a group project completed with Cassidy Rush, Justin Slayton, Jacob Clare, and Trent Zahara. The goal was to create a rabbit hutch that could act as housing for up to ten rabbits while also considering the ability for humans to view and interact with the rabbits.

HUTCH CITY: THE HARE NET The Ohio State University The Knowlton School of Architecture Instructor: Troy Malmstrom Spring 2015 Programs Used:
Rhinoceros 5 Grasshopper RhinoNest Adobe Photoshop CC Adobe Illustrator CC Project Description The Hare Net was designed to act as a pavilion that placed the inhabiting rabbits on display to the visiting public. The open design provided large viewports while the nature of the triangular modules provided structure for the full scale production.

hutch city: the hare net Fabrication required the production of numerous flat pieces of triangular cardboard to be cut using a three axis CNC machine which was modified to operate as a drag knife. These pieces were painted and taped at the edges to protect the hutch from rain and other weather. The pieces were assembled, grouped into larger “batches using zip-ties, and then connected to other batches (shown ABOVE).
