THE TROJAN WOMEN | BY EURIPIDES October 22, 23, and 24 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by Emily B. Ditkovski Written in the fifth century B.C.E. during the Peloponnesian War, Euripides’ The Trojan Women depicts the reality of what happens to women and children in conflict zones. The play was written nearly three thousand years ago but tells an eerily modern tale. Hecuba, the once great Queen of Troy, waits with the rest of the Trojan women to be sold into slavery after the defeat of her city following the Trojan War. The women, wasting away in a refugee camp, mourn their lost city and share their fears about the future. Told through a surreal combination of movement,
