MONCLER SOHO MONCLER RETAIL DESIGN 546 BROADWAY MONCLER, symbolizes not only a luxury brand but also a lifestyle that enables adventurous outdoor experience under extreme weather conditions. Since 1952, MONCLER has transformed from a sportswear company into a leading global fashion brand when it comes to performance down jackets. For decades, MONCLER explored Fit, Aesthetic Research, Experimentalism and Materials, which made them unique and reinforced their well deserved reputation.

Featuring a double-storied Cold Zone that integrates experiential weather, a showcase Gallery and a cocktail Bar, and a warehouse-inspired Archive display area that gathers collections and key pieces from the past seasons of MONCLER history. This retail concept lets the customer discover their own venturesome spirit and the core of the brand from different directions; functionally, commercially and aesthetically.

*** PAGE_05

MONCLER SoHo represents a new era in lifestyle and retail experience. It not only respects MONCLER’s original goals but also explores how customers approach this lifestyle, buy into the brand’s history, and connect to the site's historical background in SoHo.

SOUND OF GOD REUSE ITALY CHIESA DIRUTA

03 SOUND OF GOD

The Chiesa Diruta may be considered to be a “fallen church,” but it is still able to heal the space and the people who step foot inside of it through the “sound of God.” As it experienced a structurally detrimental earthquake in 1694, the damage endured by this church has caused a weakening in the connection between visitors and the belief that they carry with them into its vicinity. Music heals all wounds. In order to fill the gap between the earth and the heavens, as well as to strengthen the relationship with God, the Chiesa Diruta acts as a prominent medium, a medium for sound. This fallen church turned concert hall will use the miracle of the “sound of God” to reincarnate the space. The columns that support the church, the ticket booth gate, the bar area, the audience seating, as well as the ceiling that seals the entire space, have all been designed with a “distortion.” This is to show the effect of the vibration that has passed through it, caused by the “sound of God.” The stage symbolizes the portal that divides heaven and hell, as it is between the sky and the ground. It has been placed strategically, directly underneath an elliptical opening in the church (forming the pendentives which supported the dome before it was damaged), that is now open to the sky but sealed by a glass curtain wall. The musical performers that will share their presence on the stage, will act as the “messengers of God” helping to impart the miracle of sound and music to the audience. The purpose of the orientation of the seating is to allow the audience to be able to bask in the glorious view on the west side, observing the changing quality of the sunlit sky. The secondary functions have been arrayed within the spaces adjacent to the main altar to enhance a sense of community and occasion.

REUSE ITALY CHIESA DIRUTA SPRING 2021

As evening deepens, “the fallen church” comes alive with the magical hues of light which emphasize the conserved elements of the space and draw the audience into a new unified spiritual journey of old and new, sound and light, solid and void.

Kitchen Island always connect all of the activities that happen in that space, functionally and socially. Similarly, New York City’s Central Park serves as the functioal and social connector for the metropolis. As such, “The CENTRAL” project is inspired by the landscape of Central Park and the surrounding architecture.

The material and lighting design of this space also inspired by the reflections on skyscraper facade and the sunset views of Manhattan. The CENTRAL is designed not only aesthetically, but also functionally. Featuring the DACOR range, wall oven, column freezer and dishwasher, these fixtures convert this important space into the heart of a home.

*** PAGE_29

The CENTRAL has a kitchen island with multiple functions, which can serve as counter bar and breakfast area. The island is constructed with natural materials which contrast with the cold, hard and architectural material of the kitchen wall and ceiling design. Similarly, this correlates to the juxtaposition of the natural greenspace of Central Park, with the concrete jungle of the city.

PART1 I FULL RENOVATION

IIDA STUDENT COMPETETION HEALTHCARE DESIGN SPRING 2021 WILSON YANG I NELSON SANCHEZ

OCRE, is the original native name for an island that forms part of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. This landscape was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO for its unique formation process from lava to land. The transition of volcanic activity has left this island feature with a special tone of color - OCRE, which means "one that is all ochre" in the native language of Lanzarote. The natural healing process of Mother Earth, from volcanic ashes to green land, has many similarities to the healing process that a patient will go through. In other words, after any catastrophe comes calmness, life, and joy. To recreate this healing journey, OCRE features biophilic and spa-inspired design that represents Lanzarote’s landscape. In capturing this tropical island environment, this clinic will have a more comfortable experience than the other healthcare facilities. The self check-in technology in the reception area will save time and give more privacy to patients. By replacing the linear hallway with a sun-lit solution, and breaking out the normal exam enclosure, the new concept remains transparent, but still private when needed. It forms a new language for modern and human-based healthcare systems.

WAYNE RESIDENCE BRUCE WAYNE + SELINA KYLE AMERICAN RADIATOR TOWER Located in midtown Manhattan, American Radiator Tower always stands out by its unique appearance; its Gothic inspired black and gold Art Deco facade and details. The penthouse of this prosperous building has a new owner, Bruce Wayne, a millionaire and secret superhero whose temperament matches the building itself.

This traditional living room divides into two parts: a lounge area where Bruce and Selena can relax, and a formal conversation area where they can hold meetings with other DC superheroes. One space, two functions; perfect for the guardian of Gotham City.

*** PAGE_43

The design of Wayne Residence is inspired by famous interior designer Juan Pablo Molyneux’s aesthetics but with a “Gotham” twist, which shows the playfulness and diversity of the space. The dialog between antique Regency furniture and modern art shows the vitality of the Empire State.
