Student FAQs

Do I have to wear School uniform? No, you can wear whatever you want as long as you are appropriately dressed for your course. In some courses you may need to wear specific clothing or protective items such as steel toe capped boots, overalls or gloves. You will be advised before you start your course if there is anything you need to wear or bring.

Will I still get free school lunches at College? Yes, if you are entitled, we will provide you with a free lunch when you are college for the whole day.

Will I be with students the same age as me? Most of our classes have a mix of School aged and post-16 students. Sometimes we run courses just for School aged learners. You will be told if this applies to the group you are in.

Will I automatically progress into the next academic year at College? If you start with us in year 10, we will always check that your School are happy to fund your year 11 study program before progressing you to the next stage at College. If you are Year 11 progressing to post-16 we would support you in making an application to College as normal. You will get careers advice as part of your study program at College.
