HOCKEY IN YEAR 7 Our mission is to give every girl the opportunity to compete in a competitive match for the school and to develop a long-term love of hockey as well as pushing pupils to achieve their potential within the sport.

M E S SAG E TO PA R E N TS

D E A R PA R E N TS It is with great pleasure and excitement that we welcome your daughter into our hockey programme. We are mindful of the fact that the first days and weeks at a new school can be potentially a little daunting. With this in mind, we are acutely aware of the role of sport in the settling in process and the confidence and enjoyment that it can bring to all involved. We have a range of opportunities available for girls that will help them to find their feet and create lasting friendships within their peer group. I want to reassure you about our selection process and remind you and your daughters that the beginning of the new year and the start of a new school brings with it a completely clean slate. We have an experienced and dedicated teaching and coaching team within our hockey department. We will make sure that every girl has the opportunity to be seen and to receive AT ample feedback for development throughout her time at Wimbledon High. I would also like to take this opportunity to reassure both you and your daughter, that at no point throughout their time in school will selection be considered anything other than fluid. We understand that players develop at different rates and will always remain in consideration for higher teams, should this be their desire.

WIMBLEDON HIGH

Finally, we encourage all students to come directly to us either in person or through email to receive specific and individual feedback to gain clarity on where they are currently and what is required to improve. We are always available for discussions and to help on a 1:1 basis for those that want this. I look forward to meeting you in due course. George Cook
