You never wanted to be called a follower. When I was younger, I remember how some teens labelled other kids as followers. And being a follower meant you were really lame. It meant that you weren’t a leader, and you didn’t do your own thing. You simply fell into the pattern of someone else’s way of life and copied them. As a teen, I imagine that in certain areas I was a leader, but in others I was a follower. Where do you fall on this spectrum?

This April during DNOW our students are going to learn the value of being followers. Christfollowers. Many people seek to live in a manner that is real and authentic. And this is often interpreted as following your own heart and desires. But as Christians, if we want to have a faith that is genuine, we must follow Jesus. If we’re going to experience life in all its fullness, we will submit our lives to Christ. In case you aren’t familiar with DNOW, it stands for Disciple Now. Our student ministry will take a weekend for worship, Bible study, recreation, and service. As a result of this weekend, we pray that students will grow in their relationship with the Lord and in their relationships with each other. How can you be involved in DNOW? Glad you asked. One way is to join us for our service project on Saturday April 21st. This day will be a church-wide work day in conjunction with the DNOW service project. We will work to clean up any litter and other unsightly debris in order to keep our property looking well-kept. Fielding

Missionary work in Africa was the most difficult and faith-affirming work James Graham had every faced. Warm, homey presents from a Good Samaritan back home gave him the hope he needed to carry on. But an injury brought his work to a sudden halt and sent him home to Chicago.
