New AFN national chief puts Ottawa on notice New National Chief Perry Bellegarde receives the eagle feather that symbolizes his new position. In his acceptance speech Perry Bellegarde said, “First First Nations Nations people people will will oppose oppose any any development development which which deprives deprives our our children children of the legacy of our ancestors.
