Community House School Of Dance
Fantasy Dance This class combines imagination and movement to enhance your child’s creativity. Fantasy Dance incorporates basic ballet, French terminology, and motor skill development. Parent observation day will take place on the last day of the Session for the last 15 minutes of class.
Required Dance Attire
Fantasy Dance, Tiny Tot Ballet , Pre Ballet: Light p ink leotard, pink tights, and ballet slippers Ballet 1/2: Lavender leotard, pink tights , and ballet slippers Ballet 3: Light blue leotard, pink tights , and ballet slippers Ballet 4/5: Black leotard, pink tights , and ballet slippers. Teen Ballet: Black leotard, nude tights, mid length skirt and ballet slippers Musical Theatre Dance: Girls : b lack leotard, nude tights, mid length skirt, jazz shoes or ballet slippers Boys : black or white t -shirt and black athletic pants with jazz shoes. Jazz: Leotard and jazz shoes Hip Hop: Comfortable clothing Irish Dance: Black fitted tank top, black athletic shorts, white athletic socks (tube socks preferred).
NOTE: Any child arriving to class more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted You may only attend the day/time you are registered for. There are no make-up classes.

Gwendolyn Britt
Ballet and Fantasy Dance
Gwendolyn has been teaching ballet and Fantasy Dance classes at the Community House for over 20 years. Her students learn proper ballet technique in an encouraging atmosphere. As a performer, Gwendolyn danced for the Lynda Martha Dance Company. She is a certified teacher with the Cecchetti Council of America. Gwendolyn is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Music with a BS in Ballet Education.
E.Marc Nevins
Adult Ballet
Marc is a dancer with nearly 20 years of performing experience including appearances with American Ballet Theatre, Joffery Ballet, Ballet West and the Evanston Concert Ballet. Marc studied at the University of Utah, Interlochen Arts Academy, School of American Ballet in New York, and with Maria Tallchief in Chicago.
Mallory Mulligan Wendt
Irish Dance
Mallory has had an active dance career while winning international dance competitions. She has a passion for teaching dance to children and is a registered T.C.R.G. through the An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha.
Aaron Umsted
Jazz and Musical Theatre Dance
Aaron is currently the Artistic Director of Children’s Theatre of Winnetka. His Chicago area theatre credits include productions with the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Northwestern University, Paramount Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook, and Marriott Theatre. He has also toured North America in the Broadway companies of A Chorus Line, Disney’s Mary Poppins, and Anything Goes. Aaron holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Oklahoma, and a M.Ed. in Theatre Pedagogy from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
