SM

Friends, we miss you! For those of you who are staying home and sheltering in place – thank you for doing your part to slow this virus. For those of you still out and about doing essential work, thank you for all you are doing to care for others! If there’s one thing we’ve learned during this challenging time, it’s that we can never again take our ability to gather as a community for granted. Here at the Community House, we feel the loss of community keenly – because at our core, that’s what we’re all about. Our programs, classes, fitness center, performances – these activities are wonderful ways to try new things, develop our skills, and pursue our best selves. But what’s truly special about the Community House is that at the heart of it all, we find joy in coming together in a place where we belong, where that feeling of community and connectedness is strong and vibrant. For now, our core staff team is working from home, coordinating virtual programs, sharing ideas for staying active and engaged while at home, and doing everything we can to keep the feeling of community going while we can’t physically be together. We’re also planning for the future, looking ahead to this summer and beyond, and preparing for the day we can all be together again. As you, too, look ahead to brighter days, we hope you’ll flip through this on-line booklet and consider summer programs at the Community House. Please know that even as we are planning for the summer, we are also continuing to monitor public health guidelines, and we will not resume our operations until it is safe to do so. If you register for a summer program and it is cancelled or delayed due to COVID-19, we’ll issue a full or pro-rated refund, as the situation indicates. The safety of this community is our highest priority. We hope you are staying healthy – and we want you to know that when we get through this and it is safe to come together again, the Community House will be here, ready to warmly welcome you back to your home away from home.
