THANK YOU Thank you for joining us at the Qaumajuq Ball! By being here this evening, you’re supporting arts education for children and youth. So let’s celebrate the new Inuit art centre and bid generously on the amazing art and experiences. I’m so grateful that we can come together in person for this wonderful cause. Enjoy yourselves tonight as we raise funds to inspire kids right here in Winnipeg and across Manitoba! Ritza Lambos
With your support, the Ball funds programming that activates Qaumajuq’s innovative new spaces: from Ilipvik, the smart classroom increasing our capacity for virtual experiences, to the purpose-built art-making studios on the WAG penthouse.
Visit WAG Studio on the Penthouse Level tonight and explore the new space! YOUTH PROGRAMS@

QAUMAJUQ BALL CHAIR
WELCOME The Ball is the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s premier fundraising gala, and all proceeds support youth outreach and learning programs. We are so pleased that we can be together in person this year, after missing Gallery Ball 2020. Your participation this evening contributes to the education and empowerment of thousands of young people in our community. We extend our sincere thanks to you—our Sponsors, Donors, Creative Partners, all guests, volunteers, and staff—along with this year’s incredible Ball Chair Ritza Lambos and her dedicated committee. They have been steadfast through all the changes of the past two years and have shared their creativity in reimagining a Ball that would be safe, welcoming, and glamorous! This year’s event is named in honour of the opening of the Inuit art centre. Qaumajuq is an architectural and cultural landmark, home to the world’s largest public collection of contemporary Inuit art. Together, we’ve created a new museum – a place for us to meet and share, a centre for inspiration and discovery, and a way to connect with each other and ourselves through art. With the opening of Qaumajuq, WAG Studio has grown, with new learning spaces on the Penthouse Level of the WAG building. Designed by Qaumajuq architect Michael Maltzan, the new WAG Studio offers expanded opportunities for all ages to engage with digital media, design, traditional art, and more. Thank you to the many businesses, families, and individuals, as well as all three levels of government, who have given so much to make Qaumajuq a reality. We are now just $1 million from our $70 million goal. But we still need help! While you’re with us this evening, we encourage you to explore all that the new building has to offer. Consider making a donation, or maybe another one, or adopting a shelf in the Visible Vault. With your support, we’re creating a legacy for all Manitobans and Inuit everywhere. Qaumajuq: it is bright, it is lit!
