Building on 26 years of hockey development prominence, Northwestern Hockey Sports Camp is pleased to continue offering positive hockey development opportunities to players of all ages and skills levels under the newly released Jets Hockey development banner. All hockey development and instructional programs at the MTS Iceplex, under the umbrella of True North parent company of the Winnipeg Jets, will be under the new label of Jets Hockey Development. Jets Hockey development will continue the tradition of Northwestern Hockey Sports Camp under the leadership of larry Bumstead. Larry will continue to direct the Jets Hockey Development programs and provide a need sensitive approach to player and team development that strives to meet the needs of young developing and older aspiring players: ages three to young adult, boys and girls, learn to skate to college. Jets Hockey Development, in accordance with Northwestern Hockey Sports Camp philosophy, supports the Hockey Canada player development model by offering a progression of development throughout the year to complement team play and build on individual and team performance. The In-Season Development is designed to complement a player’s hockey season by offering a positive learning environment to increase skill development while the player is in regular season play with their peers. This is dedicated programming that takes advantage of limited down-time, high tempo drills and innovative drill design. all goaltenders will receive dedicated goaltender instruction. There are multiple levels of programming available within the In-Season Development as we offer programming to meet the needs of all young, developing players. in-season aa/aaa development The AA/AAA Program offers weekly individual skill development to High Performance players and goaltenders. As players progress to higher levels of competition, team practices shift focus to more tactical development and team systems. At all levels of play, building and maintaining individual skiils is essential to raise a player’s competitive ability.
