Philip Govedare
JANUARY 11, 2020 - FEBRUARY 28, 2020
Winston Wächter Fine Art Seattle is pleased to announce our first solo exhibition with artist Philip Govedare in our West Gallery, opening January 11th, 1-3pm. Philip Govedare creates intricate, layered landscapes that are suggestive of a complex narrative of natural forms and human intervention. His paintings elicit questions about our role in nature and how our activity has reshaped the earth’s surface.
Philip Govedare earned his BFA from San Francisco Art Institute and his MFA from Tyler School of Art/Temple University in Philadelphia. He has exhibited widely in the US and in Europe and his awards include an individual artist fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award in painting, and a Fellowship in Visual Arts from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. His work is on display in a permanent installation in Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam.
